MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A Master’s degree in Nursing Science;
- Qualification in Nursing Education;
- Qualification in Nursing Management;
- Current registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC as a registered nurse, nurse educator and nurse manager);
- At least one DHET accredited publication.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Good interpersonal and mentoring skills;
- Good computer skills;
- Scientific writing skills.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
- At least one-year teaching experience in a Higher Education Institution;
- Experience in a clinical environment;
- PhD in Nursing Science;
- A valid driver’s Licence;
- Track record of supervising postgraduate students.
- SANC Registration as an assessor or moderator

JOB PURPOSE:
The incumbent performs financial administration for the Department of Information Technology Services. The administration includes processing and coordinating IT acquisitions, liaising with Finance and service providers, financial reporting, and capturing of IT Asset Management information.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidates’ responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

ITS departmental financial administration:
- Validate that requisition forms are complete and accompanied by all relevant supporting documents, and capture requisitions onto the University finance system with the required supporting documents;
- Monitor available funds before processing orders, and liaise with Finance on journals required to transfer funds or recover income;
- Comply with the proper use of procurement categories, accounts, cost centres, and projects on the financial system;
- Acquire the appropriate approval(s) for purchase orders as per UP policy and ITS standard operating procedures, and dispatch purchase orders to the relevant stakeholders;
- Compare all related financial and vendor documentation received (including but not limited to invoices, delivery notes, quotations) against the officially generated UP orders, acquire approval for payment, and submit for payment;
- Perform quality control for ITS stores invoice submission, attend to inquiries related to orders, payment, and deliveries;
- Maintain financial components of key ITS contracts, standardised financial reports for ITS on expenditure against budget, as well as forecasts on expenses;
- Execute annual roll-over of open purchase orders;
- Deliver a competent level of verbal and written communication to assist with the ITS procurement process, and to resolve matters with internal and external parties;
- Follow up with all parties to ensure timeous approvals and payment of invoices, and create physical transfer requests for IT assets onto the University finance system;

Office administration:
- Administration of the procurement cycle for all ITS divisions;
- Maintain an electronic and hard copy filing system for all UP orders processed for ITS, including financial and vendor documentation;
- Distribute documentation as required, and oversee office supply requirements and purchases;

Information security and governance:
- Collaborate in compilation, testing and execution of the Information Governance and Disaster Recovery controls for the IT Portfolio and Resource Management Team;
- Assist in the documentation of processes, procedures, policies, standards, and the application of best practices in the IT Portfolio and Resource Management Team;
- Ensure adherence to relevant legislation and UP policies, as well as compliance to information security procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A relevant national three-year Diploma; with

A total of two years’ experience in:
- Financial administration;
- Financial reporting;
- Enterprise Resource Planning Finance Systems;
- General office administration;
- Certificate in Microsoft Excel (Advanced);
- A grade 12 certificate; with

- Potential to be established as an independent researcher in the near future based on a recent body of work.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
Lecturer:
- Research experience based on a recent body of work beyond the PhD thesis;
- Substantial teaching experience in a tertiary environment;
- Preference will be given to candidates with strong interest in applied and numerical analysis, ordinary and partial differential equations, dynamical systems, or mathematical modelling.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels;
- Experience in the supervision of postgraduate students;
- Established as an independent researcher based on a recent body of work;

Computer Integrated Education focuses on the innovative use of educational technology in teaching and learning.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- The curriculum development of and lecturing of modules in the programme(s) based in the department;
- In addition, the incumbent will pursue research activities such as own research, research-based publications and the supervision of post graduate students registered in the department;
- Developing, presenting and co-ordinating undergraduate and postgraduate courses for pre-service and in-service teachers and other students for contact and distance presentation;
- Mentoring students for practice teaching/work integrated learning;
- Using a learning management system to develop and present courses;
- Presenting lectures and programmes in an E-learning environment;
- Providing a significant contribution to research outputs, post graduate teaching and supervision.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
SENIOR LECTURER:
- PhD in the field of Computer Integrated Education / Educational Technology;
- At least three years of tertiary or related teaching experience;
- At least six accredited publications (journals, book chapters, Books) of which 4 should be in a mix of internationally and nationally accredited journals, 1 publication should be sole-authored and evidence of conference papers;
- At least 3 students supervised to completion at Masters level;
- Community engagement in a related field. Work-integrated involvement/ mentorship;
- Experience in academic administration and participation in departmental/faculty committees.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:
- PhD in the field of Computer Integrated Education / Educational Technology;
- At least 5 years’ teaching experience in HEI or other education sectors.
- Comprehensive teaching portfolio.
- Evidence of meaningful engagement with student feedback
- At least 11 publications (journals, book chapters, Books) of which 4 should be in a mix of internationally and nationally accredited journals, 3 publications should be sole authored
- At least 6 students supervised to completion at Masters or Doctoral level of which 2 should be at Doctoral level and 1 should be sole supervised
- Proof of (inter) national peer recognition.

The ENGAGE (Engineering Augmented) Degree Programme is an extended degree programme comprising both mainstream and foundation modules. Students follow a structured 5-year curriculum. Additional Chemistry is an augmenting module that is presented in parallel to the mainstream Chemistry module in the first year. The module is designed to develop and enhance basic conceptual understanding and problem-solving strategies, and to address the lack of Gr12 Chemistry knowledge.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent must be able to teach Chemistry on a first-year level with a focus on General and Organic Chemistry. Additionally, the incumbent will be required to update and refine the curriculum, and to teach and do research in Chemistry Education to engineering students. The teaching comprises one formal lecture and three discussion classes per week, to groups of approximately 50 students each.

The ENGAGE (Engineering Augmented) Degree Programme is an extended degree programme comprising both mainstream and foundation modules. Students follow a structured 5-year curriculum. Additional Chemistry is an augmenting module that is presented in parallel to the mainstream Chemistry module in the first year. The module is designed to develop and enhance basic conceptual understanding and problem-solving strategies, and to address the lack of Gr12 Chemistry knowledge.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent must be able to teach Chemistry on a first-year level with a focus on General and Organic Chemistry. Additionally, the incumbent will be required to update and refine the curriculum, and to teach and do research in Chemistry Education to engineering students. The teaching comprises one formal lecture and three discussion classes per week, to groups of approximately 50 students each.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A relevant Master’s degree or equivalent qualification;
- 3 years of teaching experience at tertiary level;
- 1 Publication (peer reviewed article or peer reviewed conference paper).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintaining and managing medical/dental equipment and minor medical/dental assets, including theatre vacuum systems, to prevent downtime and optimize patient care;

- Assisting with training on occupational safety linked to equipment/machinery.
- Preparing/ Collating and monitoring the maintenance plans for all equipment in the facility and the training platform;
- Obtaining quotes for spares needed for repairs and maintenance from companies in line with the approved maintenance plans and procurement plans;
- Sending purchase orders for spares to suppliers.
- 24 Hour service rendering in case of emergency repairs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- National Diploma in Electrical or Relevant bachelor's in electrical /BTech degree in a relevant field;
- Three years trade test in the relevant engineering discipline.
- Wireman’s license (Electrician only)
- Repairing/maintaining dental equipment in a hospital or a dental practice environment including dental chairs;

RESPONSIBILITIES:
It will be expected of the successful candidates to:
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Nuclear Engineering in the Department;
- Supervise final-year undergraduate project and design students; and postgraduate Honours, Masters and PhD students in nuclear-related fields of engineering;
- Conduct research in the field of nuclear engineering and publish in leading accredited journals;
- Raise and manage additional funding from national and international funding agencies and industry to support the activities of nuclear engineering research;
- Expand existing research programmes or initiate new research programmes;
- Perform assigned departmental duties (e.g. of an administrative nature).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Senior Lecturer:
- A BEng degree from a university of which the undergraduate programme is recognised by the Washington accord or is recognised by ECSA to be equivalent;
- A Masters’ degree in Engineering that follows on the previous qualification;
- A PhD degree in Engineering that follows on the previous qualification. Fields related to Nuclear Engineering, e.g., Mechanical Engineering, are preferred;
- Teaching or industry related experience;
- At least three years tertiary education experience or three years industry experience with some involvement in tertiary education;
- At least 2 articles published in DHET accredited journals or a DHET accredited book;
- At least 2 other publication outputs (peer reviewed conference paper(s) / book chapter(s) / industry recognized outputs in a commensurate field;
- Supervision / co-supervision of Master’s students to completion or proven management experience in industry.
- Same as for Senior Lecturer, plus;
- At least 6 years tertiary education experience or 6 years industry experience with some involvement in tertiary education;
- Experience in curriculum / strategy development and innovation;
- Evidence of sustained publications output;
- Majority of recent publications should be in WoS / Scopus / IBSS journals (past 7 years);
- Evidence of at least 3 research Master’s OR 6 coursework Master’s mini-dissertations successfully completed (supervised or co-supervised);
- Evidence of Doctoral student supervision;
- Evidence of conducting reviewer duties for journals and/or conferences.
- Same as for Associate Professor, plus;
- At least eight years’ experience at a tertiary academic institution or industry related experience;
- Evidence of successful doctoral student completion;

- A record of previous undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching experience.

- Candidates registered or registerable as Professional Engineer with ECSA;

- Advanced nuclear reactor design, and next-generation energy systems.
- Computational modelling, multi-physics simulations, and high-performance computing. Experience with coding, e.g., python, C, Matlab, in nuclear related fields, or evidence of the use of simulation software, e.g., Ansys, Flownex, etc. in nuclear applications, is preferred.

- Ensuring harmonious working relationships between the University, its employees and the unions by:
- Continuous review, managing and monitoring implementation and adherence to Recognition Agreements
- Managing time-off and leave of absence of shop stewards and Full-Time Administrators;
- Ensuring effective management and union engagements by creating an environment and platform for effective resolution of issues;
- Ensuring effective collective bargaining and monitoring adherence to collective agreements;
- Assessing the labour climate and making recommendations for appropriate interventions which is not limited to reviewal of collective agreements;
- Ensuring effective collective bargaining and union engagements by ensuring stakeholder attendance to meetings by ensuring that agenda items are circulated timeously and proper record keeping of minutes;
- Representing the University in the collective bargaining and union engagement structures;
- Provide legal support to collective bargaining and engagement structure by proving sound legal advice pertaining to relevant issues;
- Manage strike or any protest action by ensuring compliance with the law, Strike Plan and Picketing Rules;
- Manage fair distribution and proper utilisation of union budget in line with the applicable policies;
- Manage and keep a proper record facility provided to the unions in line with the Recognition Agreement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Honours degree in Labour Law, Labour Relations, LLB or relevant field
- A total of 4 years (of which 2 years in management) of:
- Employment relations experience in a unionised environment;
- Specialist experience in labour law if currently a practicing attorney, Advocate or Labour Consultant;
- Experience representing management at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) either as representative or Commissioner.

- LLM, MBA or any relevant Master’s degree;

JOB PURPOSE:
Provide support to the Department of Internationalisation and Strategic Partnerships (DISP) by conducting research on University of Pretoria (UP) strategic international partnerships, assisting with the coordination of international visits, international events, international university networks, and UP funded bursary programmes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidates’ responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Research, monitoring and evaluation of UP’s internationalisation initiatives:
- Compiling due diligence reports for UP strategic institutional partners;
- Compiling briefing reports for the Vice Chancellor and Principal, and Deputy Vice Principal;
- Conducting research on internationalization of higher education;
- Drafting research partner analysis for institutional strategic partners;
- Coordination of international visits:
- Coordination of international visits to UP (to Vice Chancellor and Principal’s Office, Deputy Vice Principal’s Office; DISP Director, and at Faculty);
- Establishing contact with UP stakeholders;
- Connecting UP researchers with researchers from visiting institutions;
- Administrative assistance to UP funded international bursary programmes:
- Providing administrative assistance to the following UP funded international bursary programmes: Postgraduate Student and Staff Exchange, Congress Funding, and Visiting Professors Programme;
- Organisation of public lectures under the Visiting Professor Programme (invitation and post-public lecture feedback);
- Drafting articles following public lectures;
- Assistance to the university networks:
- Assisting with the coordination of all international university networks coordinated by DISP:
- Assisting researchers with reporting to network funders;
- Assisting with research achievements for university networks and related activities at the university;
- Evens and projects:
- Assisting with coordinating events and projects in the Department;
- Administration of events and projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant National three-year Diploma; with
- Three years’ experience in;
