RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement the talent management framework for the institution and monitor and report on the HR and institutional talent management;
- Design and implement a workforce planning modelling and forecasting framework;
- Oversee the design, development and implementation of the institution’s talent management framework;
- Produce tools and resources for individual talent development planning and career development;
- Develop and maintain a talent retention management framework and strategy for the institution (aligned to the Recruitment and Selection strategy);
- Evaluate and provide input with regards to UP remuneration strategies to improve retention probabilities to Executive Management in collaboration with the Deputy Director, Specialist Services;
- Identify and monitor retention risks and ensure diligent market trend analysis on talent retention trends in various job categories including reward and remuneration trends in collaboration with the Deputy Director: Remuneration & Benefits;
- Develop and maintain a succession management framework for the institution and monitor and report on the HR and institutional succession readiness;
- Drive the implementation of the University’s performance and talent management strategy;
- Manage the University’s Performance and Talent Management processes through the design and development of system standards and procedures;
- Provide guidance and support in the implementation of the performance management system throughout the institution;
- Develop, support, align and improve individual and team performance to ensure the sustained achievement of institutional objectives;
- Provide institutional support in the creation of a high-performance culture and effective talent management and retention;
- Report to Executive Management on performance and talent management strategic matters;
- Conduct institutional audits on performance and talent management and reporting to management on the outcomes;
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Honour's degree in Human Resource Management or related field;
- Five years’ experience in HR three of which must be as specialist in the area of Performance Management;
- Experience in developing and implementing Performance and Talent Management policies and strategies;
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- A good understanding of the importance of performance and talent management;
- Basic understanding of the higher education environment;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Good presentation skills
- Ability to facilitate workshops and conduct one-on-one interviews;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Advanced computer and data analysis skills;
- Good planning and organising skills
- Ability to advise and resolve conflicts around performance management
- Knowledge of project management
- Attention to detail

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Education Consultant will be required to work on and contribute to Education Innovation initiatives, as well as in the designated Faculty with regards to:
- providing strategic leadership and change management for curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment to advance teaching and learning in the faculty;
- collaborating with staff in Education Innovation and the designated Faculty to create, implement, monitor and evaluate curriculum, teaching, assessment and learning platforms, systems and policies for the University as they affect hybrid teaching and learning, particularly in contact environments;
- engaging directly and building relationships with Faculties, Departments, Teaching and Learning Committees and individual academics;
- providing initial and continuing professional development for curriculum development, teaching and assessment, as well as tutoring;
- conducting research as an individual, in a community of practice or in collaboration with academics to stay abreast of trends in all aspects of academic development, as well as contributing to the development of knowledge in these fields through the scholarship of teaching and learning; and
- providing support to the Faculty of Health Sciences by promoting a culture of continuous change, improvement and innovation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant Master’s degree;
- Preference will be given to qualifying candidates with a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education Studies or Academic Development;
- Five (5) years of higher education or training-related experience;
- Three (3) years’ experience in institutional initiatives for the academic development of students and lecturers;
- Expertise in blended and online learning;
- Experience in using the affordances of technology to promote teaching and learning;
- Proven experience in the development and application of innovative teaching and learning strategies;
- Experience in working with a Learning Management System.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Leading change and general project management capabilities;
- Experience in education practice and education technology;
- Insight into the functioning and structures of a faculty;
- Experience in education consultancy in higher education and project management;
- Language proficiency and negotiation skills;
- Experience in coordinating and facilitating training intervention and rendering support to academic staff;
- Expertise in identifying, analysing, planning and supporting lecturers with regard to possibilities of flexi-learning environments;
- Up-to-date knowledge of current trends and future scenarios for higher education with consideration given to important innovations, including the potential of technology changes for teaching, learning and assessment;
- Thorough insight into educational theories and educational processes in higher education.

- A Master’s degree in Information Science, Knowledge Management, Information Management or a related discipline;
- Teaching or industry related experience;
- 1 Publication (peer reviewed article or peer reviewed conference paper) or
- Book chapter(s), recognised articles outputs or industry recognised outputs in a commensurate field.
- Evidence of reading towards or registration of PhD studies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Leading projects to boost the library's digital presence, aligning with academic priorities;
- Implementing cutting-edge solutions to enhance user interaction with digital resources;
- Developing policies for digital tool use, ensuring they meet national and international standards;
- Working with IT and Marketing to improve digital user experiences;
- Maintaining and enhancing the library's external web page for better user accessibility;
- Driving the creation of modern, accessible web interfaces;
- Chair the Library Web Committee to provide staff training and support;
- Collaborating on delivering web-based resources and solving technical issues;
- Overseeing the integration and optimisation of library systems with university platforms;
- Implementing new technologies, such as AI, to personalise library services;
- Managing vendor relationships for scalable, cost-effective solutions;
- Enhancing the library’s intranet to support staff communication and training;
- Leading training programmes to improve digital literacy and effective use of library tools.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in Library and/or Information Science (BIS, BLS, BIBL) AND;
- Three to Five years' experience in an academic or research library and web management;
- Knowledge of academic library systems and websites.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Computer Software and Tools: Knowledge of relevant computer software and tools;
- Web Technologies and Metadata: Knowledge of web technologies, metadata manipulation, and scripting languages;
- Academic Library Environment: Understanding of the academic library environment and relevant stakeholders;
- Benchmarking Techniques: Familiarity with benchmarking techniques;
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, set and meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations, priorities, and technologies;
- Training Development: Experience in developing training materials and documentation;
- Proficient in HTML and CSS, familiar with web accessibility, information architecture, content management systems, responsive design, and Library Management Systems (LMS);
- Knowledge of JavaScript, and instructional and graphic design. They should be able to teach technical topics, have experience with LMS systems (preferably Springshare, WorldCat, and WorldShare), and be familiar with LibGuides and LibGuides CMS.

- A relevant Honours degree.

- Overseeing the development of the University’s Open Access policy to ensure compliance with funding mandates;
- Ensuring the development, compliance and updating of the Research Data Management for the institution;
- Administration of the Repository Management and Metadata Issues;
- Giving advice on issues of Copyright and Open Access;
- Developing the institutional provision and support for academic research impact;
- Supervising Team and Resources Management;
- Undertaking any other duties appropriate as required by the Assistant Director: Scholarly Communications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A four-year B degree in Library and Information Science;
- A three-year B degree and an Honours degree in Information Science/Library Science (e.g. BIS, BLS, BIBL);
- Four years’ working experience in:
- An academic or research library setting;
- Web publishing and digital content creation;
- Research data management and familiarity with rights management issues in digital environments.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Identify and promote digital tools to enhance research and teaching;
- Develop and implement guidelines and procedures for OA functions;
- Knowledge of copyright and Intellectual Property legislation;

- Knowledge of research processes and the role of publishing and managing data within contemporary research and scholarship;
- Familiarity with metadata standards and formats used in digital research environments (e.g. Dublin Core, DDI, ORCID, DOI);

- Knowledge of research impact metrics, platforms and analysis methods, i.e. SciVal, Web of Science, Scopus or Google Scholar;
