SENIOR LECTURER IN HOSPITALITY (2 X POSTS)

Job Primary Purpose The primary role of this position is to provide teaching, research and leadership in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Senior Lecturer
Leadership The provision of leadership at the discipline level.
Teaching & Learning Provision of theoretically informed and pedagogically sound teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Research
Research and the production of accredited research outputs.
Postgraduate supervision and the graduation of Masters' and Doctoral students in the minimum time.
Engagement
Engagement, through which knowledge and skills are used to benefit the discipline/profession and the community.
Minimum requirements
Senior Lecturer
Qualifications
PhD in Tourism and Hospitality Management or relevant field.
Undergraduate qualification in Hospitality Management or any Hospitality related discipline.
Teaching experience
5 years teaching experience in a variety of hospitality modules at university level.
Research
A strong record of research outputs including papers in accredited national and international journals and presentations at national and international conferences.
A good record of postgraduate supervision at Masters' level with some of these students publishing their research.
Engagement
Participation in learned societies.
Some application of disciplinary/professional knowledge and skills to the benefit of the external community.

EXAMINATIONS OFFICER
Organisational Unit University of Mpumalanga -> Registrar -> Academic Administration
Job Primary Purpose
Oversee the effective and efficient administration of examination related activities and coordinates the activities of the Examinations office.
Key Performance Areas:
- Processing of all Examination Functions/Activities and examinations data management.
- Addressing examination related enquiries with regards to examinations, examination time-table, viewing of scripts etc.
- Processing of all Activities/Functions with regard to moderators /examiners /invigilators.
- Administration of processes with regards to the application of DP’s, re-exams, changing of marks, viewing of scripts, and remarking, etc.
- Graduation Administration.
Minimum Requirements:
• M+3-year Degree or equivalent in management or administration.
• At least 4 years’ experience in examinations/assessments or related environment.
• Computer literacy (MS packages).
• Knowledge of ITS System essential.

Job Primary Purpose
The core purpose of this position is to provide timely multimedia support to the user communities at UMP and external stakeholders in using multimedia equipment.
Key Performance Areas:
- To provide support and maintain all multimedia equipment on campus.
- To provide support for meetings, events, and video conferencing system maintenance.
- To provide multimedia end-user training.
- To assist in managing Audio Visual-related projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Relevant IT/Media (M+3) or equivalent qualification.
- 4 years of relevant Media/Multimedia experience.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Sound design for visuals and experience in a variety of audio engineering techniques is advantageous.

Job Primary Purpose
The core purpose of this position is to provide timeous audio-visual support to the university community and assist in utilising audio-visual equipment effectively.
Key Performance Areas:
- Installation, maintenance and support of all Audio-Visual hardware and software.
- Audio Visual equipment fault diagnosis.
- Conduct Lab/Office Demonstrations and Conduct General Administration.
- Conduct monitoring, and reporting.
- To assist in managing Audio Visual-related projects.
- A Relevant IT technical qualification (M+3) Diploma in Information Communication Technology or Electrical/Electronic/Sound Engineering.
- Industry-specific certifications (Extron).
- 3 years of related experience.
- AV knowledge within a corporate AV environment.
- Sound design for visuals and experience in a variety of audio engineering techniques is advantageous.
- Driver’s license.
- Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
- Experience with computer systems, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi configuration & Microsoft/Linux environment.
