LECTURER-FUNDAMENTALS OF NURSING SCIENCE (nGAP POST)

- Must be 40 years of age or younger (i.e.s40 years) in line with nGAP guidelines
- A Master’s degree in Nursing with a minimum pass mark of 70%
- Demonstrate interest in pursuing a career in academia
- Eligibility and willingness to undertake PhD studies.
- Must be a South African citizen.
Discipline-Specific Requirements:
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nurse (General, Psychiatric, and community) and Midwife
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience working as a General Nurse in a healthcare institution.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in clinical teaching or mentoring within a healthcare facility, nursing college, or institution of higher learning will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- Strong organisational, planning, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Key Responsibilities
The appointed candidate will:
- Undertake and complete doctoral studies, with ongoing research publication and participation in academic conferences.
- Participate in a six-year academic development programme under nGAP.
- Teach and assess undergraduate nursing studies in both online and venue-based formats.
- Contribute to curriculum development for the Bachelor of Nursing (R.174) programme.
- Develop and update study materials and learner guides.
- Conduct clinical accompaniment and provide mentorship to students in accredited clinical settings.
- Perform relevant administrative duties related to teaching, learning, and community engagement as assigned by the Head of Department
- Ensure compliance with all record keeping and reporting requirements of the South African Nursing Council

MOLECULAR BIOLOGY
NGAP LECTURER
The University of Limpopo is seeking to employ a suitable candidate in a permanent position as outlined below. The post is part of the Department of Higher Education and Training’s New Generation of Academics Programmes (nGAP); and all applications must be South Africans who are 40 years or younger. The successful candidate shall enter into a contract that commits him/her to undertake at most six (6) years of supported academic development activities. Accordingly, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the under mentioned post.
Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Biochemistry with a special focus in Molecular Biology.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A MSc in Biochemistry with a minimum average pass of 70%.
- The MSc candidate will be required to be trained and mentored in Biochemistry with a special focus on Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics.
DUTIES:
- The successful candidate will be required to lecture at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology.
- The overall workload includes preparation for lecturers, teaching and research.
- A candidate will be trained in the field of Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics.
- Development of a Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics module at undergraduate level.
- It will be expected from the candidate to participate in current research projects concentrating on Bioinformatics.
- Be able to assume any general administrative duties as determined by the HOD.
- The candidate must enrol immediately in a PhD research programme in Biochemistry which will run concurrently with lecturing duties until the completion of the study and as prescribed by the nGAP programme.

LECTURER: SOIL PHYSICS CHEMISTRY:
Requirements:
- A Master’s (70% minimum) degree in Soil Science specializing in Soil Physics and Chemistry.
- Preferably, the candidate should be less than 40 years.
- As an added advantage, must at most have one (01) year teaching experience at a University or comparable Institution of high learning.
- Evidence of at least two (02) publication in DHET- accredited journal.
- Evidence of both national or international conference attendance and presentation of papers.
- Ability to supervise research projects at final year undergraduate and Honours level.
- Traceable experience in community engagement work.
- Commitment to undertake PhD studies soon after commencement of the position or evidence of enrolment for PhD studies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

REQUIREMENTS:
