The Discipline of Public Health Medicine (Cancer Research Project) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the position of Professional Nurse for the Multinational Lung Cancer Control Program in Sub-Saharan Africa (MLCCP) project (KZN-South Africa Site). The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a high level of initiative and will be required to provide nursing care and nursing services as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the MLCCP project. The candidate will primarily be based at the Addington Hospital, Durban.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Matric
• 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or 3-year Diploma in Nursing
• Current registration as a professional nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Five years or more experience as a nurse.
• Experience in Pulmonology, Oncology, Theatre or Community work
• Excellent MS Office skills.
• Clinical knowledge regarding speciality care services

• Basic understanding of customer service
• Basic understanding of health care and safety issues

The main purpose of this position is to provide driving support to the South Africa arm of The Multinational Lung Cancer Control Program in Sub-Saharan Africa (MLCCP). The incumbent will work with research support staff with a primary responsibility for providing safe and reliable driving services to a team of researchers, academics, technical experts, research assistants and community health workers to ensure effective and efficient execution of the MLCCP Research Project.
Minimum Requirements
• Matric Certificate/Grade 12
• Code 08 (B) Driver’s License and a Valid Public Driving Permit
• A minimum of two years of providing driving services in a professional environment
• Basic Understanding of customer service
• Basic computer and administrative skills
• Be able to communicate proficiently in isiZulu and English

The Discipline of Public Health Medicine (Cancer Research Project) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the position of MLCCP Oncology Unit Clerk for the Multinational Lung Cancer Control Program in Sub-Saharan Africa (MLCCP) project (KZN-South Africa Site). The ideal candidate will be expected to maintain the accuracy and security of confidential patient’s health records, including the management of paperwork, such as patient history forms, admission and discharge documents. The MLCCP Oncology Unit Clerk will also perform supportive administrative duties that include reception duties, ordering of supplies, answering of telephones, scheduling of patients’ appointments. The position will report to the Professional Nurse. The candidate will primarily be based at the Addington Hospital, Durban.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Matric certificate or Grade 12
• One year of post-matric certificate in clerical or other administrative fields
• Two years of working as a Clerk in a health care or related facility
• Competent in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to capture data
• Basic Understanding of Customer service
• Knowledge of file storage and retrieval
