The successful candidate will be expected to provide support in the planning and decision-making processes of the CHS by mining, extracting, analyzing and reporting management information. Undertaking statistical analysis of data and preparing formal reports for College Leadership and Management. Undertaking and Supporting College Research in collaboration with other Researchers in UKZN; Supporting the College planning & monitoring processes with relevant data reports; Advise on Conceptualizing and implementing appropriate systems in support of the functions of the Division. 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
• Matric 
• plus, a relevant four-year Bachelor’s Degree /Honours/Postgraduate (NQF 8) (maths, stats, information systems or other relevant majors). 
• Driver’s License 
• At least 4 years’ experience in the handling of Management Information, Institutional Planning and Institutional Research, in a busy and pressurised environment in a large organisation. 
 
Additional Skills: 
Proven experience in business analysis and demonstrable knowledge of SQL and databases as well as: Customer relationship skills; Experience in providing and analysing management information; Communication skills (verbal and written); Being Analytical and Logical; knowledge of Analytical and Statistical Software; knowledge of Business analysis/processes. 
Personal Attributes required:

ARISE NETWORK PROJECTS 
 
The ARISE Network in collaboration with the University of Heidelberg and Technical University of Munich in Germany and Harvard University in the USA has two new projects: Reducing Nutrition-Related Noncommunicable Diseases in Adolescence and Youth: Interventions and Policies to Boost Nutrition Fluency and Diet Quality in Africa (NUTRINT), the EU Horizon funded project, which aims to reduce diets and nutrition and physical activity-related risks of NCDs among adolescents in in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Research Network For Design And Evaluation Of Adolescent Health Interventions And Policies In Sub-Saharan Africa (DASH), the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) funded project, which aims to design and evaluate adolescent health interventions and policies in Sub-Saharan Africa. 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
 A relevant Master’s degree in Public Health/ Epidemiology or similar 
• Minimum of 2 years experience managing projects in a community or household setting. 
• Minimum of 3 years experience in managing or implementing grant-funded complex research projects 
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in stakeholder engagement activities 
 
Essential Requirement: 
• Previous experience as a Project Manager or Study Coordinator in a clinical research environment 
• Knowledge of research methodology and data quality assurance and control (QA/QC) processes 
• Valid GCP certificate 
• Monitoring and Evaluation skills 
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities 
• Ability to work independently and part of a team

• A relevant bachelor's degree in either Health Informatics/ Information Systems/ Data Science/ Statistics/ Biostatistics/ Demography or similar. 
• Relevant experience of at least 1-2 years in data management which includes i programming electronic data collection tools such as RedCap, ODK, or similar 
• Experience in using statistical software, Stata, and/or R (abilities in writing syntax files, reading code, and data cleaning) 
 
Essential requirement 
• A relevant Masters degree in either Health Informatics/ Information Systems/ Data Science/ Statistics/ Biostatistics/ Demography or similar. 
• Experience in Data Curation and exposure to health/medical data 
• Experience working with large datasets 
• Experience in preparing data for technical reports and peer-reviewed publications 
 
DASH and NUTRINT projects are based in the Umlazi Township. The candidate will be based at UKZN Howard Campus and be required to travel regularly to USINGA HDSS at Umlazi Township during fieldwork phase of the projects. The projects do not cover any relocation costs.
