The main objective of the job is to ensure the delivery of the category Gross Margin target through the effective running of the key margin improvement programs in the business:
1) The category savings program with a focus on product logic and Non Material Supply Chain Cost (NMSCC) savings .
2)The portfolio simplification program with a focus on above the skin and below the skin simplification.
3) The value chain cost benchmarking process with focus on internal benchmarking with Unilever sites and external benchmarking with competitors.
4)The waste reduction program with focus on Nothing Goes To Waste (NGTW) in the factories and business waste management.
5)The localization program linking the procurement and R&D teams with the supply chain teams.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Drive finished goods portfolio simplification through delisting and margin improvement using Polaris or pareto analysis and leveraging local business teams.
Below the skin simplification
Ensure recipe, raw and packaging material portfolio simplification together with R&D teams through strategic delisting of FG and RM harmonization.
Conduct Unilever to Unilever value chain benchmarking by linking the counterpart teams to get insights and exchange of ideas.
External
Engage external benchmarking service providers and lead the benchmarking exercise to gain insights and value chain cost comparisons with competitors and industry peers.

- B.S. or M.S. in a relevant technical field (Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics)

JOB SUMMARY:
- Quality Team Capability: Drives skills gap analysis within quality and identify training needs. Coordinates and ensures necessary training happens. Owns quality team contingency plan and skills cover
- Credibility Of Testing & Measurement: Responsible for quality asset care management program, Validations, Bulk COA’s, product stability. Manage technical operations of laboratory including SOPs, inspection plans, calibration and chemicals
- Quality Reporting: Generate all necessary weekly/monthly quality reports and trends: daily feedback to operations teams, SAP QM quality, D-Incidents, QEWO’s

- Product Safety: Product Safety Team Member and facilitates HACCP reviews. Conduct internal audits as per internal audit program

JOB PURPOSE

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
UMS implementation:
- Introduces, sells and champions UMS best practices as per the UMS module
- Customizes the best practices designed by consultants to suit the needs of the environment
- Drafts a UMS Action Plan with the Departmental Manager and Task Force, to assess the UMS Process
- Manages the process of implementation by tracking progress, communicating barriers at higher levels and coordinating area committees
- Provides logistical support for UMS implementation by planning and coordinating meetings, workshops and team building
- Identifies learning gaps. Either conducts training or arranges training for operators to bridge these gaps.
- Ensures the safe operating of the plant within the UMS Guidelines
- Trains role-holders to look out for Safety Hazards within the production process and contacts the relevant people to improve on the areas. E.g. Lighting, ergonomics, storage and firefighting
- Determines the safe cleaning and hygiene operational procedures, which facilitates the drafting of SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) in the plant
- Consolidates Loss Data from the Plant and aids BPCD pillar lead in compiling BPCD Matrix
- Is responsible for the control and execution of work against a budget and authorisation of work within authority limits
- Investigate areas of improvement within the plant to optimise system and reporting functionality
- Actively pursue opportunities for improvement within the plant, which are highlighted in terms of UMS / 5s and co-ordinate the rollout on the improvements
- Champion all UMS Pillars and system audits held throughout the year
- Ensure that all continuous improvement projects, are documented and visualised in terms of UMS
- Ensures that all plant-based performance measures, are sourced, updated and displayed on the UMS Board
- Identifies Training and Developing needs by consulting with the PD pillar to determine loss-based development plans and activities
- Supports PD pillar in the development of Departmental Competency Matrix
- Supports PD pillar in Planning and designing Training & Development programs (e.g. program writing and development)
