Umfolozi Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions: -
 


POST: CIVIL ENGINEERING AND BUILDING CONSTRUCTION LECTURER
REF NO: UMF/016/05/2021
SALARY: (R211 098.00 — 279 198.00) per annum (PL1) plus benefits
(Up until 31 May 2022)
CENTRE: Nkandla Campus
 
REQUIREMENTS
A relevant recognised three-year Civil Engineering diploma/degree or recognised appropriate National N Diploma or equivalent recognised qualification in the field is required or N3 qualification inclusive of 2 Languages and trade test in the relevant field.
Must be able to teach the following subjects:
• Plant and equipment L2-L4
• Construction planning L2-L4
• Materials L2- L4
• Masonry L2- L4
Advantageous: Assessor/Moderator accredited. Three (03) years teaching/training/Industry -related experience. Drivers Licence.
 
 
DUTIES 
To be responsible for offline and online teaching and learning delivery. To assess and evaluate students according to the set standards. To participate in subject development and marketing of NCV, Report 191 and Occupational programmes. Provide student guidance and support on subject related matters and manage behavioural manage patterns.

POST: PRACTITIONER: RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION

REQUIREMENTS: A Recognized National Diploma in Human Resource Management/Development (NQF level 6), 2 - 3 years' relevant experience in Human Resource environment. 
Skills: Planning and organizing, Communication (Good verbal and written) Computer Literacy, Customer care services, Report writing and Teamwork. Advantageous: Relevant Persal system/VIP system and valid driver's licence.
 
DUTIES
Identify vacant posts to be advertised and develop annual recruitment plan, Develop adverts and process advertisement of posts in line with departmental policy and delegations, Process applications and handle queries and responses, Sort, capture and Screen CV's; prepare preliminary shortlists, final shortlists with responsible managers for submission to the short listing committee, Prepare for interviews, Coordinate the verification of all applicants' qualifications, Compile submission and reports for approval by Principal and delegated authority to appoint the suitable candidates, Facilitate appointments and placements of suitable candidates, Develop and update recruitment database and Supervise Staff. DUTIES: Assist with the coordination of bursary application processes, assist with coordinating and monitoring of financial aid processes, Assist with analysing the NSFAS provisionally funded students, Assist with the coordination of bursary allocations, Assist with the coordination of providing feedback to students relating to the progress of the bursary process as communicated by NSFAS, Assist in reporting on all bursary allocations and progress.

REQUIREMENTS
NQF Level 4 or 5, Grade 12 certificate or equivalent. Knowledge of repetitive tasks. Must be computer Literate. Sound organisational Skills, Good People skills. Basic Written Communication Skills, Client Orientation and Customer focus, Good Communication and Telephone etiquette. Advantageous: Proven knowledge of telephone etiquette. Receive telephone calls, messages and channel to relevant role players. Welcome, receive and direct clients to relevant Units. Provide relevant information as required. Operate office equipment such as fax machines and photocopiers. Liaise with internal and external personnel. Maintain telephone directory. Maintain and control visitor register at the reception.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be in possession of a Grade 08. No experience required. Knowledge of repetitive tasks. Knowledge of facilities policies. Knowledge of relevant legislation, prescripts, policies and procedures. Knowledge of hygiene. Storage requirement.
Skills: Reading. Operating equipment. Communication (Verbal and written). People management. Office management and administration. Analytical thinking, Computer literacy. Problem-solving. Planning and organizing. Disciplined.
 
DUTIES
Operate the photocopier machines: Make photocopies for staff. Report any malfunctioning of photocopier machines. Keep records of photocopier machine activities. Scanning of documents. Binding and laminating of documents. Providing counter service: Receive the request form and documents. Contact clients when documents are ready. Update the index. Attend to counter queries. Perform minor maintenance on the photocopier machine: Arrange for the servicing of and repair to the machines. Undertake the general maintenance and cleaning of the machines. Make requisition for photocopying materials: Ensure that photocopying materials and equipment's are stored away securely. Arrange for the re-ordering of copy papers, staples and toners.
