MANAGER: QUALITY ASSURANCE OF ASSESSMENT: POST SCHOOL QUALIFICATIONS -TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (TVET)

Requirements: An appropriate recognised Honours Degree in education. At least 5-10 years’ experience in the education and training sector and 5 years managerial experience. Extensive knowledge of and insight into policy and legislation that governs the TVET sector, the General and Further Education and Training Quality Assurance (GENFETQA) Act 2001 as amended and the National Qualifications Framework Act (NQF), 2008, as amended. Abreast with current assessment and moderation practices in education and training. Knowledge and experience in the moderation / verification of assessments and examinations. The ability to conceptualise, do research, write reports, and formulate policies in terms of quality assurance of assessments will be required. The successful applicant must be self-managing and possess good communication, interpersonal, facilitation, co-ordination and project management skills. A valid driver’s licence is essential. Proven knowledge and experience in conducting /managing assessments in the technical and vocational education and training sector for the National Certificate (Vocational) Levels 2-4 (hereafter referred to as NC(V)) L2-4 and NATED Report 190/191: Engineering Studies N2-N3. Develop and implement appropriate quality assurance processes to ensure credible examinations / assessment systems for the NC(V) L2-4 and NATED Report 190/191: Engineering Studies N2-N3. Computer literacy is a compulsory requirement.
Duties: Draw up and oversee implementation of the annual sub-unit operational plan and budget, and report on expenditure and progress. •Accurate reporting on performance information as per the Annual Performance Plan• Manage and coordinate the sub-unit responsible for the quality assurance of assessment for the NC(V) L2-4 and NATED Report 190/191: Engineering Studies N2-N3. Lead the development, implementation and management of the quality assurance of internal and external assessments conducted in the TVET sector. This will entail policy development and implementation, establishment and monitoring of quality assurance systems. Evaluate assessment bodies’ assessment processes, develop reports and monitoring improvement plans. Manage the conduct of monitoring examinations and assessments. Appoint and train external moderators. Report on the NC(V)L2-4 and NATED Report 190/191: Engineering Studies N2-N3 quality assurance processes. Perform other tasks delegated by the Senior and Executive Manager.
