The Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi) is a statutory Quality Council mandated by the Minister of Education to quality assure education provision in General and Further Education and Training.
Job Description
Main Duties:
•Provide executive administrative support, including diary, travel, communication, and workflow management.
•Prepare, edit, and quality-assure documents, reports, minutes, briefs and presentations.
•Coordinate meetings, compile documentation, and ensure follow-through on decisions and action items.
•Maintain secure and well-organised filing, records and information systems.
•Track operational projects and timelines, liaising with internal business units and external stakeholders.
•Serve as the first point of contact and professional interface for the Office of the Executive Manager.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
•National Certificate (Vocational), National Senior Certificate, Senior Certificate, or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
•Minimum of at least 2 years’ experience as an administrative assistant.
Additional Advantages and Skills:
•A National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Public Administration, Management, or related field (NQF Level 7).
•Experience in a regulatory, public sector, education, or statutory environment will be advantageous.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•High proficiency in MS Office Suite and collaboration platforms.
•Strong planning, organising, problem-solving, minute-taking, and report-writing abilities.
•Professional, confidential, ethical, and diplomatic conduct.
•Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
•Proven experience in confidential document handling and stakeholder liaison.

- Develop and submit external moderation reports to Umalusi for the various moderation processes according to the set timelines.
- Respond timeously to requests/queries in relation to the subject appointed to moderate.
- Be able to conduct investigation and verification of alleged irregularities related to the subject appointed for.
Job Requirements
- Have at least a recognised four-year post-grade 12 qualification, which includes the subject applied for, or related subjects at third year or honours level.
- Be in possession of a valid driver’s license as they are expected to travel extensively.
- Have at least eight (8) years of teaching experience in the subject applied for in schooling sector or related sector.
- Be a practicing teacher/ subject advisor at Grade 12 or an expert in the subject to be moderated at an institution of higher learning.
- Have experience as an examiner and/or moderator of the subject at provincial and/or national level.
- Experience in teaching and moderating in both English and Afrikaans will be an additional advantage.
- Have at least five (5) years’ experience in the marking of national examinations and/or must have served as a Senior Marker, Deputy Chief Marker, Chief Marker or Internal Moderator.
- Have thorough knowledge and understanding of the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) Grades 10-12, Subject Assessment Guidelines (SAG) and all the related curriculum policies and guideline documents.
- Have extensive report writing skills.
- Have advanced computer skills (MS. Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Be willing to work in a team of moderators as a panel.
