INFORMATION AND RECORDS PRACTITIONER: HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT

Requirements
A Diploma in Records Management/Archival Studies/Knowledge Management/Information Science or in Public Administration. A minimum of three years’ experience in Information and records management. Proven experience in the implementation of the file-plan. Supervisory experience will be an added advantage. Knowledge and in depth understanding of the Electronic Records Management system and the National Archives legislations. Knowledge and understanding of the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) and Promotion of Administrative Justice Act (PAJA). Communication and interpersonal, interpretation, report writing, problem solving, administrative and organizational skills. Computer literacy. A valid South African driver’s license.
Duties
Ensure compliance and implementation of the approved file plan, policies, and procedures. Develop, review, and implement policies, procedures, and manuals in relation to information and records management practices. Ensure the safekeeping of organisational records. Ensure proper management of postal and courier services. Ensure proper management of Umalusi records at offsite storage. Build stakeholder relations. Scanning and indexing of documents. Quality control of documents. Respond to information inquiries, giving appropriate access to information. Identify best appropriate Information and Records management resources. Ensure accurate classification of correspondence. File documents accurately and in line with the file plan Compilation and submission of monthly reports. Establish retention and disposal schedules. Training, advising, and overseeing the implementation of Information and Records management best practices to management and staff on record management. Identify problems, evaluate trends and anticipated information and Records management trends. Perform other records management functions. Management of information and records related service providers.
