The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Faculty of Science has a permanent position for a Lecturer at Pretoria/Arcadia Campuses.
 
Key Performance Areas/Core functions:
  • Teach various modules in the fields of Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ and Engineering Mathematics;
  • Provide quality teaching and learning, with technology, in theory class and practicals;
  • Participation in departmental, faculty and institutional committees relating to the leaning programmes of the department;
  • Participate in the community engagement initiatives/programmes of the department/University;
  • Liaise with other departments/faculties and help to improve success rate of students.
  • Participate in the development of new modules/academic programmes; and,
  • Perform any other administrative/academic tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the Head of Department or Section-Head.
 
Minimum Requirements
Academic Qualifications
  • A relevant M- degree or equivalent qualification in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics
 
Experience
  • Three (3) years teaching experience, with at least one year teaching experience at an institution of higher learning.
 
Knowledge and Skills
  • Good communication and organizational skills

The Department of Computer Science requires a service of Part-Time Lecturer for the first semester of 2024.
 
Key performance areas/Core functions:
• Lecturing duties: Lecturing, invigilating, Marking of Scripts, Processing of Marks.

The Faculty of Economics and Finance requires the services of Part-time lecturers for day and evening classes at the Polokwane Campus.
 
Day classes start from 08:00 – 17:00 & Night Classes Start from 17h00 – 22h00
 
Preference will be given to qualifying South Africans, including persons with disability and women.   
 
INSTRUCTIONS:  Applicants are required to submit together with the CVs, a standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document  as one PDF document. Critical Performance Areas
• Preparing and conducting lectures both distance and contact.

Minimum Requirements
• Honours degree or Post-Graduate Diploma (Level 8) from a recognized university and a professional designation CA(SA) or CIA.
• Masters Degree (Level 9) relating to the field of study below. 
• Study record with major subjects listed.
• At least three years`teaching (contact and distance) and/or research experience at a tertiary institution will be required and/or industry related experience.
• Excellent writing, oral, communication, presentation, and computer skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office as well as other teaching and learning with technology software 
• Full proficiency in English is a prerequisite.
• Progress towards a masters’ degree will be a strong recommendation.
• Member of a professional body will be an added advantage.
• Completion of a TUT License to Teach programme will be compulsory once appointed.

The Department of Performing Arts in the Faculty of Arts and Design has a permanent position for an Associate Professor at the Arts Campus.
 
Core functions:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Teaching undergraduate courses, supervising postgraduate, Master’s and Doctoral candidates.
  • Participating in students’ projects, departmental productions, and Work Integrated Learning (WIL), academic administration, community engagement activities. 
  • Capturing and processing marks and other administrative tasks relating to teaching and learning activities.
  • Contributing actively to the research and publication profile of the department.
  • Developing learning material aligned to undergraduate and postgraduate programs based on the new curriculum.  
 
Requirements
  • A doctorate degree NQF level 10 in the fields of Performing Arts (Dance, Music, Theatre Arts and Design).
  • Be a seasoned academic researcher.
  • Hold professional skills in Performing Arts.
  • Ability to collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the Performing Arts industry.
 
Experience
  • Extensive experience in teaching at tertiary institutional level (a minimum of 10 years).
  • Proven record of supervision of Masters’ and Doctoral students.
  • Proven track record of research publications in accredited journals. 
  • Evidence of attendance at local and international conferences.
  • Membership or active involvement in national and/or international boards, societies, councils, etc. in the field of performing arts.
