Critical Performance Areas

- Actively participate in faculty research programmes focusing on Accounting, Taxation and Finance issues

- A Masters degree in Accounting or Accounting Sciences or Taxation.
Experience:
- At least 3 years teaching experience at tertiary level.
- A minimum of three years of a discipline related work experience preferably in Financial Accounting or Taxation and Finance environment.
- Potential to engage in doctoral studies in the field of either taxation or Accounting or completed doctoral degree in Accounting.
- Excellent written, oral, communication, presentation and computer skills as well as the ability to work with students, to conduct workshops, seminars etc. are required.

Minimum requirements:
- Academic qualifications:
- A doctoral degree/Ph.D. in Education from an accredited institution of higher education/university
- A major in Mathematics in the undergraduate qualification
- A professional designation will be a strong recommendation
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in Mathematics/ Mathematics Education in the field of teacher education. In addition, the applicants must have experience in the teaching of Didactics for the indicated content areas.
- Applicants are expected to understand the HEQSF and related activities.
- Applicants are expected to have experience in curriculum development and/or instructional design for their teaching disciplines (i.e. Mathematics and related Didactics)
- Applicants must demonstrate a proven collaborative and individual record of research publications in accredited academic journals and conference proceedings, community engagement, and postgraduate students’supervision up to the doctoral level;
- As a proven experience in teacher education teaching, the applicants must have taught at undergraduate and Honours levels in teacher education.

The Department of Technology and Vocational Education has 1X NGAP LECTURER CIVIL TECHNOLOGY position available at Soshanguve North Campus.
The New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP) is a nationally funded programme that involves recruiting a new cohort of academics. The programme is transformative in nature and priority is given to designated candidates. Candidates must be 40 years and younger. The Programme enables nGAP appointments to benefit from teaching and research development opportunities and requires the incumbent to register for their PhD or post-doctoral studies.
The successful candidate will participate in a 6-year comprehensive development and induction Programme, after which she/he will continue as a regular member of the academic staff at TUT.

- To be responsible for overall recruitment management and execution of the university’s talent acquisition, retention strategy and to provide specialized strategic support to management.
- Responsible for the overall strategy, design and management of all compensation and benefit programs:
- Ensure company’s benefit programs support and are aligned with the organization’s objectives, comply with legal requirements and are competitive and cost effective
- Ensures compensation and benefit strategies support and reinforce business unit and university’s strategies
- Surveys industry and/or community to determine university’s competitive position in employee remuneration and benefits
- Manage the evaluation of total market compensation to ensure that the university’s salary and benefit programs attract high calibre, qualified prospective staff and motivate and retain high performing staff
- Ensure consistency and equity in remuneration while recognizing and understanding the unique needs of each of the business units
- Overseas the administration of employee benefit programs to include health, retirement, death, disability and unemployment
- Establishing benefits approach and strategy, benchmarking against other organizations to ensure competitive benefits package
- Provide overall leadership in the development and implementation of HR systems and system improvements.
- The financial management of the directorate within the agreed budget including:
- Manage expenditure according to the approved annual Budget
- Allocating funds to the units in accordance with an approved mechanism
- Ensuring that appropriate budgetary processes for allocating funds and controlling expenditure against planned allocations are in place in each unit
- Annual financial reporting on expenditure
- Directly or indirectly supervises all staff as assigned
- Staff training and Development
- Responsible for the formulation of policies and procedures in relation to environment to support the University’s overall strategy and for overseeing their implementation
- The effective management (use and maintenance) of the infrastructure and other assets of the unit
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Minimum Requirements
- NQF 9 (A relevant Master’s degree)
- 5 years relevant experience at Management Level
- Practical knowledge of Recruitment, Selection, Talent and Retention Management
- Knowledge of relevant HR Policies and Legislature
- Knowledge of HR best practices
- Knowledge on HR portals and eRecruitment principles
- Practical knowledge and application of people management principles
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- Presentations and facilitation skills
- Consultation and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical, project management and process management skills
- Strong interpersonal/influencing skills and the ability to establish credibility quickly in an organization
- Solid financial background and understanding of how people /benefit costs impact the financial performance of an organization
