PART-TIME LECTURER X1 (2025)

The Department of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering require the services of a part-time lecturer for a period of 17 weeks (Starting July 2025). The part-time lecturer will be required to teach the subject Polymer Chemistry (PYC216B), which is a module in the degree program BEngTech in Materials Engineering in Polymer Technology. The subject consists of theory and practical components.
 
Minimum Requirements
• A Master’s Degree (MEng/MSc/MTech) in Materials Engineering or Polymer Technology.
• At least 3 years teaching experience at a tertiary institution and/or 3 years polymer industry experience.
 
Critical performance areas:
• Preparing and conducting lectures in the Polymer Chemistry module for both the theory and practical components, as per timetable.
• Development of the ECSA Graduate Attributes related to the module.
• Standard academic duties and responsibilities.
• Evaluating students on a continuous basis as well as administering tests and assignments according to study guides using a multimodal learning approach.
• Setting and marking of assessments and exams.
• Conducting practicals associated with this module
• Participating in departmental meetings and subject meetings.
• General administration such as capturing test and assignment marks, uploading documents on the Learning Management System (D2L Brightspace) and compiling of subject file(s).
• Student consultation.
 
Knowledge and skills
• Experience in conducting Polymer Chemistry practicals will be an advantage.
• Registration with a Professional Body will be an advantage
• Experience concerning management of academic matters, quality of program, student affairs, human resources, facilities and research projects.
• Experience with the ITS (entering of marks, printing of class list) will be an added advantage.

ETDP-SETA INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME X8

You are hereby invited to participate in the ETDP-SETA Internship Programme for Tshwane University of Technology. The purpose of the project is to provide temporary employment opportunities for young graduates from Tshwane University of Technology who have not been able to find employment. Where possible graduates will be placed in Pretoria Campus subject to the needs of departments. 
 
Key performance areas: 
• To support core administration and operation where additional support is required on a temporary basis. 
• To support workplace experience for unemployed graduates. 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
• Curriculum Vitae 
• Certified copy of South African identity document (this opportunity is only available to South African Citizens and permanent residents) 
• TUT Qualifications in either Human Resource Management/Development, Labour Relations, Office Management and Technology and/or Administrative Information Management/ Financial Management 
• Any qualification in Applied Social Science (Majors: Psychology and Counselling) 
• Police clearance certificates / affidavit / declaration by the applicant. 
• You must be between the ages of 18 and 34 years. 
• You must be a TUT graduate. 
• You must be unemployed and not benefited from any SETA/DHET project previously.
 
Stipend: Ranges from to R5000 to R8500 subject to qualification
