The Directorate of Student Development and Support (SDS) in Higher Education and Development has a part-time positions for SDS Practitioners available at the Pretoria campus.
 
INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required to submit together with the CVs, a standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and identity documents. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Further note that candidates may be expected to make a presentation or undergo competency testing.

JOB SPECIFICATION/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 
Qualification
  • A relevant Master’s Degree (NQF L9) in the field of Psychology.
 
Professional registration
  • Registration as a psychologist (educational or counselling) with the HPCSA.
 
Experience (minimum)
  • 3 years of relevant experience in rendering psychological services to higher education students.

  • Counselling portfolios related to psychological support focus areas: Professional knowledge of skills development and support functions: human behavior: counselling (individual, group), psycho-education
  • Counselling portfolios related to academic development focus areas: Professional knowledge of remedial support work

  • Knowledge of teaching, learning and mentorship in Higher Education

The Department of Mathematics, Science, and Business Education has 2X 2 X Biology Laboratory Technician FET position available at Soshanguve North Campus.
 
Key Performance Areas/ Core Functions:
  • Preparation of experiments for practical work, for Bed and/or ACE students.
  • Order consumables/equipment for practical experiments.
  • Supervise and assist students during practical work and conduct limited practical sessions in well-defined areas.
  • Instruct students on all aspects of safety.
  • Assist academic staff with supervision of practical work done by students for experiential learning.
  • Maintain laboratories and facilities.
 
 Minimum Requirements:

Academic qualifications:
  • A Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) or relevant equivalent qualification with
  • Biology as a major as well as Chemistry and Physics as minors.
  • An education degree will be an added advantage.
  • Must have done at least level one Mathematics at University
  • Knowledge and skills required:
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Laboratory Management

  • Computer literacy
 
Minimum Experience:

  • Supervision and mentoring
  • Attend to relevant defects and work requests
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Respond to reported faults immediately/promptly
  • Research reasons for repeated repairs and find solutions Record all work completed
  • Determine what spares, materials and equipment’s are necessary for all relevant scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
 
Minimum requirements:
  1. Academic qualifications:
  2. Relevant completed apprenticeship or proof of passing a trade test in terms of provision of section 13 (2) of Manpower Training Act of 1981 as amended or
  3. Certificate issued under provision of section 28 or 30 of the Manpower Training Act of 1981
 
Experience:
  1. A minimum of 2 (two) years
