The Department of Visual Communication: Commercial Photography in the Faculty of Arts and Design has a permanent position for a lecturer at Arts Campus.
 
Core Functions: 
  • Be multi-skilled in the discipline of photography and teach any of the photography modules on first to third year level. 
  • Supervision and assessment of students on first to third year level.
  • Be responsible for administrative tasks relating to teaching and learning.
  • Be involved in Departmental and Faculty related activities, committees and projects.
  • Be responsible for research and publishing in accredited journals.
  • Compile study guides, module content and set of examination papers.
  • First year co-ordination, subject meetings and planning together with other related responsibilities.
  • Industry liaison and visits, community service and the development of new study material will also be required.
  • Integrate new technologies and trends into the section.  
 
Minimum requirements: 
  • A masters degree in photography.
  • An undergraduate qualification specializing in the discipline of photography.
 
Minimum Experience:
  • Three years of teaching experience at tertiary level.
  • Must be skilled and knowledgeable in commercial photography with at least three years of industry experience.
 
Other requirements:
  • Candidates should be able to show a professional photographic portfolio of recent work.
  • Advanced computer literacy in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Microsoft Office, Google Drive and related applications and relevant learning management software (LMS) is essential.

The Department of Marketing, Supply Chain and Sport Management, in the Faculty of Management Sciences requires the services of part-time lecturers for day/evening classes as listed below:
 
Critical Performance Areas
  • Preparing and conducting lectures both distance and contact
  • Advanced presentation skills for both contact/distance mode
  • Proven ability in conducting teaching with technology 
  • Setting and marking of all assessments both contact/distance
  • Participating in departmental meetings and subject meetings
  • General administration such as capturing test and assignment marks, compiling of learning material, uploading documents such as teaching materials on the official LMS platform of the University
  • Student consultation/communication for both contact/distance
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Masters or Doctorate Degree relating to any of the fields below. 
  • Study record with major subjects listed.
  • At least three years of teaching (contact and distance) and/or research experience at a tertiary institution will be required and/or industry related experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office as well as other teaching and learning with technology software 
  • Full proficiency in English is a prerequisite.
  • Member of a professional body will be an added advantage.
  • Completion of a TUT License to Teach programme will be compulsory once appointed.

The Faculty of Science: Adelaide Tambo School of Nursing Science has part time Lecturer positions for day classes at the Pretoria Campus.
 
Critical Performance Areas
  • Preparing and Conducting Lecturers.
  • Updating study guides.
  • Developing and uploading learning content on the Learning Management System (D2L).
  • Setting, Marking and Invigilating assessments (Online and during contact).
  • General administration such as capturing test and assignment marks, uploading documents on myTUTor, reporting on student performance and remedial interventions.
  • Student consultation.
  • Participating in departmental meetings.
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree in Nursing.
  • Registration as a professional nurse with the relevant nursing and midwifery registration for the specific position.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Nurse Educator.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a moderator and as a assessor.
  • At least three years teaching and/or research experience at a Tertiary institution.
  • Proficiency in Ms Office and other computer programmes.
  • Full proficiency in English.
  • Completion of a TUT teaching and learning workshop for part-time lecturers and training in the learning management system will be compulsory.

Critical Performance Areas
The lecturer in the Department of Technology and Vocation Education, in the School of Education, is an academic leader responsible for teaching and managing activities of teaching and learning and assist with curricula developments in relation to the MRTEQ requirements of the department including that he/she:
Must be able each the above-mentioned subjects at postgraduate level with specialization in the FET learning area.
It will be expected that the candidate should:
  • Teach the foundations of the above-mentioned subjects and situational learning at postgraduate level.
  • Compile a study guide according to the prescribed level descriptors for the subjects.
  • Participate in departmental administration activities which include compiling of three examination papers, the compiling of continuous assessment activities and tests, marking of scripts, entering of marks on ITS and giving prompt student feedback.
  • Participate in re-curriculation processes concerning the School of Education.
  • Assist with students’ queries related to the subject of the BEd Honors course.
  • Promote ethics, excellence and quality in teaching and learning.
 
Minimum Requirements

  2. A Master’s Degree in Education

  2. Three years teaching experience in Higher Institution
  3. Knowledge in the area of the above-mentioned subjects, which include technology assisted methods.
