CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS
  • Lecturing in the field of Mechanical Engineering with specialization in 
Mechanical Engineering Design and Strengh of Materials.
  • Provide sound academic teaching and learning practices with continuous TLT innovations.
  • Taking responsibility for administrative tasks related to teaching and learning, including the development of the new curriculum for Higher Certificate in Engineering.
  • Compile and maintain quality study and practical guides, subject files and other TLT materials.
  • Lead and participate in community service projects and research projects of the faculty/department.
  • Liaise with industry regarding practical training, advisory committee meetings, industry visits and other related activities. 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR LECTURER
Academic qualifications:
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
 
Experience:
  • 3 years lecturing at tertiary level.
  • At least 3 years industry experience.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
 
Registration with professional body (if applicable):
  • Professional registration with ECSA will be advantageous.

SENIOR LECTURER

The Department of Building Sciences has a permanent position for a Senior Lecturer in the field of Quantity Surveying or Construction Management at the Pretoria Campus.

Critical Performance Areas
  • Lecturing subjects in the structured taught Masters MBSC17

  • To be an active participant in the research activities of the department especially in the field of Process Instrumentation and Control.
  • Responsible for administrative task related to teaching and learning.
  • Lead quality teaching and learning with technology.
  • Participate in/ and or lead subject and curriculation committees.
  • Responsible for and provide leadership in compiling and maintaining quality study guides, laboratory guides, subject files and other Teaching and Learning material.
  • Participate in and lead departmental, faculty and institutional initiatives in collaboration with Technology Stations, Centres, Institutes and Research Niche Areas.
  • Liaise with industry on course and subject levels regarding curricula, visits, research and other interactions.
  • Responsible for independent research and innovation projects and associated funding.
 
 
Minimum Requirements 
Academic Qualifications:
  • BSc Honours in CM/QS/ BTech CM/QS /MSc CM/QS/Project Management
  • PhD: Quantity Surveying; Construction Management, Construction Economics (PrQS / PrPV / PrCM / PrCPM) 
 
Experience:
  • A minimum of five years teaching and/or research experience respectively.
  • Relevant Industry experience
  • Experienced in research, supervision and monitoring of post graduate students (Senior Lecturer position)
  • Experienced in teaching and familiar with different pedagogies in online teaching at a Tertiary institution  
  • Experience with regards to management of academic affairs such as programme administration, curriculum development, assessment methods (formative and summative) and student affairs.
  • Experienced in administrative duties in an academic environment 
  • Familiar with online teaching and learning platforms such a Brightspace, Moodle, Blackboard and D2L or any other online teaching platforms will be an added advantage.

Registration with the South African Council for Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) or the South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP).

The ICT 1st Year and Foundation Unit requires the service of x1 Part-time lecturer at the Soshanguve South Campus.
 
To provide lecturing services for the following content:
• Computing Fundamentals with Communication Networks Integration
 
Critical Performance Areas / Core Functions
• To provide remedial Lecturing duties for the extended/ foundation curriculum provision in the areas of computing fundamentals with computer networks integration in line with the Faculty's teaching strategy.
• Other lecturing duties e.g. invigilating, marking scripts, processing marks, on learning management system, assess/ moderate, online material development, and video development.
• Attend activities of the Unit e.g. meetings, mentorship, tutorship, panel interviews, workshops, events, etc.
• Establish/ participate in ICT-related community engagement project(s).
• Other relevant academic duties as required by the unit/academic manager e.g. curriculum review and development, module coordination, and content development.
 
Minimum requirements:
1. Minimum Qualifications:
• B Tech Degree/Honors Degree/Postgraduate Diploma in Computing or a relevant degree qualification with A+ and/or N+ content.
 
2. Minimum Experience:
• 1 year of lecturing experience in Computing Fundamentals.
• 1 year of experience teaching A+ and/or N+ related content.

  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in nursing practice
  • Experience in teaching and learning and research in nursing would be an advantage

The Faculty of Higher Education Development and Support (HEDS) has a permanent position for Disability Coordinator at the Soshanguve campus. The position has been identified as a promotional position and is intended for permanent and fixed-term contract staff members appointed for at least three years, internal candidates within the Faculty of Higher Education Development and Support (HEDS) who meet the requirements as outlined below.
