ISFAP PROJECT COORDINATOR
FACULTY OF SCIENCE: ADELAIDE TAMBO SCHOOL OF NURSING SCIENCE

The Faculty of Science: Adelaide Tambo School of Nursing Science has a part time position for an ISFAP Project Coordinator at the Pretoria Campus.
 
Critical Performance Areas
  • Oversee all the theoretical and practical teaching and learning activities of the ISFAP grant awardees.
  • Participate in managing the budgeting of ISFAP/ Thuthuka project funding.
  • Identify and manage educational and psychosocial barriers and enablers for ISFAP grant awardees and refer to the relevant directorate for support of the students.
  • Participate in the development of study material.
  • Monitor and evaluate achievement of project objectives.
  • Compile reports for the ISFAP project.
  • Participate in Relevant committees and meetings regarding student academic matters.
  • Liaise with industry and other institutions.
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
 
     Experience:
  • Two (2) years clinical nursing experience.
  • Experience in facilitating teaching and learning in a Higher Education Institution.
 
Registration with professional body:
  • Registration as a professional nurse and midwife with the South African Nursing Council.
 
Other Requirements:
  • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license for a manual vehicle.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Package.
  • Knowledge of TUT’s policies and systems related to teaching and learning, funding management and student development and support.

1 X PART-TIME LECTURER 
Engineering and the Built Environment
Department of Electrical Engineering
Pretoria

The Department of Electrical Engineering has a Part-Time Lecturer position at Pretoria Campus for the second semester (10 July 2023 until 15 Dec 2023).
 
Minimum requirements
  • MTech/MEng Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering (Control Systems)
  • Good knowledge of Control Systems and related simulation software e.g. MATLAB. will be advantageous
 
Core functions
Teaching and Learning:
  1. Presenting lectures and tutorial for ADEE23: Control Systems (CNS117V) every second Saturday from 08:00 to 16:00).
  2. Setting of assessments and marking of scripts.
  3. Keeping up-to-date subject files for each subject taught.
  4. Preparing practical activities for each subject and supervising and evaluating individual project work.
  5. Be responsible for all general admin work related to the subjects including updating of study guides and lecture materials on MyTUTor, and uploading of assessment marks on ITS. 
  6. Quality teaching and learning with technology.
  7. Implementing faculty’s teaching and learning strategy with evidence.
  8. Ensure that lecturer assessments are done on myTUTor by all students.
  9. Ensuring that all allocated subjects adhere to assessment structure and time frames (submission of marks, moderators, and other related processes).
  10. Motivating and reminding students of the need to register (activate) their TUT4Life free e-mail account.
  11. Using TUT4Life as the default means of communication for allocated subjects.
  12. Make all announcements regarding my subject(s) in class AND on myTUTor. If an announcement has not ALSO been posted to my group(s) on myTUTor then an announcement is not formal.
  13. Send e-mail reminders to all students at least three days before deadlines for projects and assignments and test dates. Take note that myTUTor can be configured to do this automatically. 
 
Experience
  • One year relevant working experience in a tertiary environment, or at least three year working experience in the industry
 
Registration with professional body (if applicable):
Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) will be an advantage.

  • Assist undergraduate students on Biotechnology and Food Technology Science modules listed below.
  • Assist in preparation of reagents for undergraduate practical class
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Postgraduate students with at least a relevant B-Tech Degree/ Advanced Diploma or Post Graduate Diploma.
  • Preference will be given to Postgraduate students, who are academically excelled in their undergraduate studies, depending on the nature of tutorship. A Master’s or Doctoral Student may be appointed.
  • Experience as a Tutor will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Ms Office and other computer programmes.
  • Full proficiency in English is a pre-requisite.
  • Preference will be given to South African registered students
  • Appointments for a maximum of four (4) hours per week
