Position Purpose
The incumbent of this post is responsible to the Senior Engineering Technician for the production of CAD drawings based on sketches, specifications supplied, or from the incumbents own site / equipment measurements and sketches.. 
The incumbent is also responsible for administering Document control and the Electronic Document Management System by organising, uploading, testing data accuracy and rectifying errors in SAP. Other responsibilities include - Marking up of completed crossings, utilisation of Drawing Offices specialised computers, specialised scanning equipment and software, plan printers and plotters, in order to provide a service  to Transnet Pipelines and its external clients.

Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a minimum of Grade 12 with above average computer skills and experience must show aptitude for the Technical and Drawing environment. - Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English. • Extensive knowledge on AutoCAD or other CAD (Computer Aided design) system. • Ability to read & understand engineering drawings and specifications. • Proficient written & verbal communication skills.
 
Competencies

Position Purpose
Ensure implementation of the Enterprise-wide Risk Management Frameworks and Standards in Transnet Pipelines for the protection, growth and sustainability of the company’s functioning and market share. Direct Executive Management with the evaluation of business and departmental risks and related mitigation activities
 
Position Outputs
1. Providing Risk Management assistance at a Strategic and Functional level: ▪ Ensure implementation and monitoring of activities in alignment to the Transnet Risk Management framework and standards in Transnet Pipelines (TPL) through the various risk management systems / processes. ▪ Direct Management on the implementation and use of the Enterprise-wide Risk Management Information System, from which statistical trend analysis, will provide direction for risk management. ▪ Monitor monthly occurrences on Transnet Occurrence Management System (TOMs) and perform statistical analysis to ensure that appropriate risk reduction activities and decisions are implemented. ▪ Facilitate Business Risk assessments at strategic, management and functional levels, and assist to oversee its implementation through CURA.
2. Providing Business Continuity Management assistance at a Strategic and Functional level: ▪ Responsible for the implementation and progress against the TPL BCM maturity plan. ▪ Responsible for the facilitation of business continuity plans and emergency plan reviews and updates with the planning of emergency exercises by the BCM Officer. ▪ Chair the Business Continuity Steering Committee and provide leadership to the Business Continuity team members.
3. Providing ERM training within TPL: ▪ ERM awareness and training activities on ERM methodologies, understanding the risk maturity model and application of the risk appetite and tolerance level.
4. Providing ERM and BCM Compliance Testing & Reporting within TPL: ▪ Compile and monitor the Business Risk Profile by reviewing and reporting on the risk register with strategic business risks in CURA and manage the required remedial actions for compliance with the Risk Owners. ▪ Review reports on Business Continuity Plans and processes from the reviews and tests against the Transnet BCM Standards and Guidelines and manage close out of these findings with the Functional heads.
5. Managing Budget: ▪ Manage finance in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements
6. Human Capital Capability Development: ▪ Manage staff within the function in order to provide quality service and to maximise job satisfaction; ▪ Agree performance measures (SPOs), on-going performance management and appraisal for direct reports; ▪ Drive capability development initiatives for direct reports; ▪ Agree skills development plans for direct reports; ▪ Implement succession planning in the unit and; ▪ Drive the values and behaviours required to create a positive motivational culture in the unit.
 
Qualifications and Experience

Position Purpose
There are two vacancies. One Saldanha Terminal and one for Port Elizabeth Terminal.
To manage and implement all aspects of Quantity Surveying and Estimating, as per industry norms and standards, at a project and programme level for Transnet Port Terminals and other Operating Divisions.
 
Position Outputs
1. Preparation of feasibility studies in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Project Lifecycle Process.
2. Undertake regular interaction with stakeholders and others to ensure a professional service is delivered and that queries are timeously and satisfactorily resolved.
3. Preparation of bills of quantities in accordance with the Standard System of Measurement, SANS 1200 and other systems of measuring.
4. Use of the latest version of software approved by Transnet for the compilation of bills of quantities and estimates.
5. Conduct commercial evaluation of tenders / contracts as and when required.
6. Attend all site meetings and other relevant meetings.
7. Conduct monthly site visits with the contractor for valuation purposes.
8. Prepare payment certificates & monthly cost / financial status reports.
9. Ensure that all payment certificate data is timeously and correctly captured and kept updated in SAP and Primavera.
10. Conduct commercial assessments of Compensation Events and finalize costs. Prepare and agree final accounts.
11. Ensure compliance with all requirements of the Project Execution Plans (PEP), Transnet's construction procurement policy, process, procedures and methods within Transnet
 
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications & Experience: Ø The incumbent is required to have a minimum three years tertiary qualification, National Diploma (M+3) in Quantity Surveying. Ø A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a multi-disciplinary and infrastructure project environment Ø Project Manage experience in line with PMBOK requirements. Ø Professional registration is not compulsory but will be an advantage.
