Position Purpose:

Position outputs:
- Preventative Maintenance – Planned/unplanned maintenance activities, identify failure modes, increase equipment reliability and availability in the maritime and plant environment.
- Construct, replace and modify parts and components using a variety of tools and equipment including hand and power tools.
- Ensure maintenance work complies with statutory and local engineering standards and requirements, using own knowledge and the support of engineers.
- Prepare the work area for maintenance of plant, systems, or components. Reinstate the work area after completing the maintenance of plant, systems, and components.
- Conduct safe and effective handover of plant and equipment to others and accept and confirm responsibility for the control of plant and equipment within the work area isolation boundary.
- Use applicable systems such as SAP to ensure all maintenance documents is completed and archived in accordance with site procedures.
- Any other duties commensurate with the job grade.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Trade test (Red Seal) Fitter Artisan (Legislation Pre-requisite)
- Grade 12 (NQF 4)
- Min 3 years’ relevant experience
- Code 08 drivers license
- Demonstrated numeracy and literacy with 5 years relevant to the position applied for.

Position Purpose:
Fault finding, repair, maintenance and overhaul of machinery, plant, equipment as well as the installation and removal of machinery to ensure availability and reliability in order to increase productivity.
Position outputs:
- Mechanical fault finding and repairs to electro-hydraulic machines including CNC and motorised equipment.
- Mechanical overhaul, modifications, upgrade of machines and equipment including new installations.
- Assemble machines, and bolt, weld, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repair, and lubricate machines and equipment and reporting on defects
- Construct foundation for machines, using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, and steel.

Qualifications & Experience:
Must be a qualified Red Seal Artisan: Millwright.
Must have N2/Grade 12 with Maths.
Min 2 years’ applicable/relevant experience.
Must be in possession of a valid code 08 drivers licence.
Must be prepared to travel. (Mostly serving the outlying Ports Depots i.e PE, Ngqurha and East London)
Must be prepared to work after hours and work shifts as per business' requirements.

Position Purpose:
• To serve as a (rating) positioned in a capacity of AB (Deck or Engine) on a Tug, Launch, Pilot Boat, Work Boat or Floating Crane operating within the confines of the port operations area,
• Be responsible for the safe and efficient handling and/or operation of ropes, wires, winches, capstans and other deck equipment during the shipping operations,
• To perform maintenance duties on the deck, accommodation, tank, void and engine room spaces of the crafts including general cleaning and housekeeping thereby ensuring a safe, reliable and professional delivery of marine fleet services to the client.
• Participate in Bridge and/or Engine Room Resource Management activities as and when required by the Master or Chief Marine Engineers Officer, i.e. perform look out duties on the bridge.
• Be responsible for the efficient and economical use of paints, working tools and consumable stores.
• To safely operate all deck or engine lifting, towing, cleaning and pumping machinery as and when required by the Master and/or Chief Marine Engineer Officer.
Position outputs:
• To safely and efficiently handle ropes, wires, capstans and other deck or engine gear/equipment during shipping operations.
• To carry out and participate in the maintenance duties on deck and/or engine room spaces of the crafts including (but not limited to) general maintenance and spot chipping of corroded spaces and fandering equipment.
• To carry out and participate in maintenance of craft equipment, including (but not limited) general wash down of internal and external spaces, decks, superstructure, hull and/or engine room and workshop spaces.
• To perform hygienic cleaning of all domestic areas including cabins, accommodation, heads and galley thereby ensuring safe and hygienic leaving conditions are maintained at all times.
• To carry out and participate in splicing of ropes and/or wires and making up of heaving lines as and when required.
• To carry out and participate in routine testing of deck and/or engine room equipment, under the supervision of either Master and/or Marine Engineer.
• To carry out and participate in emergency drills and procedures in line with safety requirements and best practices.
• To carry out and participate in berthing duties (where safe to do so), moor/unmoor the craft alongside quays and rig gangways for safe access to the vessel.
• To comply with all safe working instructions and procedures, report any non-conformances to the vessel officers (Marine engineer and/or Master).
• To carry out reasonable instructions as directed by vessel officers on-board (Marine engineer and/or Master) as determined from time-to-time for the safe and efficient running of the vessel.
• To store and secure all equipment in designated areas for safety of the vessel.
• To dispose of waste in designated areas/ bins.
• To maintain (at all times) the relevant personal qualifications and certificates of competencies in a valid mode and ensure records are kept safely and readily available for inspection when required.
• To observe at all times the safety standards are followed thereby ensuring promotion of safety and wellbeing culture on-board the vessel.
• To understand and comply all emergency signals and act accordingly.
• To perform fire and emergency patrols and report accordingly.
