Position Purpose
Main purpose of this position is to provide Business Partners with end-to-end process solutions. The Integration Specialist is responsible for developing and supporting integration solutions between TFR business applications and the platforms of external stakeholders, including customers across multiple deployment models (On premise / Cloud / Hybrid).
This will be enabled through integrated solutions in support of the ICT and Transnet Strategy.
This role will require collaboration with Architectural and business partner teams to design solutions in support of the ICT and TFR Roadmap. The successful candidate should take ownership and responsibility of solutions in totality to ensure optimal utilization and management of the solution through its lifecycle. Candidate will manage high performance cross-functional teams. A culture of knowledge sharing as well as a mind-set of continuous learning is expected.
The successful candidate should proactively seek opportunities to apply technology to business processes.
 
Position Outputs
Strategy and Planning: • Provide technical expertise, to ensure cohesive documentation of solution integration requirements, specifications and alignment to ICT & Transnet strategy. • Enable business by providing solutions that will support processes and add business value. • Lead and assist other developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new integration solutions. • Take an active role in cross Departmental/Organizational Units in transformational projects
Operational Management: • Influence and implement knowledge of integration development best practices and standards. • Produce and quality assure integration technical specifications. • Develop/configure new or enhanced integration solutions across multiple environments. • Perform unit testing, integration testing and peer review and code quality assurance. . Production support of integration solutions (24/7) as team lead. •Participate with working group to identify trends, risks and solutions for incidents and manage problems raised to resolution and closure. • Influence Training Strategy for Department. •Mentor, manage and provide guidance to integration specialists. • Analyze and evaluate relevant information to support decision making across multiple solutions, thereby supporting the end-to-end business process optimization. • Influence and adhere to the approved system development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology.
• Implementation of governance and best practice standards (COBIT, ITIL, ISO20000). • Liaise with other technical teams, administrators and contractors to assist in resolving problems. • Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of integration processes.
Acquisition and Implementation: • Build relationships with solution development and other teams to gain an understanding of application architectures and required functionality across operating divisions, ICT departments and external partners. • Conduct research on emerging integration solutions, best practices, languages and standards with the purpose of influencing the Architectural Landscape. • Continually develop and acquire skills in the applicable technologies as well as staying informed on new developments in those technologies
 
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications Required: • Related Degree/National Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science Experience: •Minimum of 5-8 years in direct or related specialized field. Certifications Required: • Certification in ITIL foundation ROC: • 8 Years relevant and solid experience in supervising activities in an ICT department, diagnostic and quality of work-flow and procedures; • National Diploma (NQF level 6) or equivalent certificates and qualifications • Quality execution of work, within the defined operating procedures, standards and working routines. Or provide technical guidance/expertise. Execution of work ensuring compliance with at least 3 yrs at supervisory/ managerial level or specialist experience. • Advantageous: Transnet leadership Development Programme Certifications beneficial: • Certification in ITIL intermediate levels • Certification in TOGAF • Certification in COBIT • Certification in ISO 20000 • Certification in Agile • Certification in DevOps • Certification in Lean Transnet leadership Development Programme

Position Purpose
The purpose of the Graduate Internship Programme is to work under supervision of a professionally qualified individual, in order to gain experience through a structured 24-month training programme. The programme seeks to place the graduate intern in specific areas within TNPA according to their academic background, career aspirations and business requirements.
 
Position Outputs
• Follow a structured training programme.
• Undergo performance reviews and assessments.
• Perform all duties as contained in his/her development programme, as well as which he/she may reasonably be required to perform by Transnet National Ports Authority.
 
Qualifications and Experience
