Position Purpose
•To provide leadership and direction to the Region /organization by articulating, leading and implementing strategic people initiatives aligned to the Transnet People Management strategy.
•Ensure compliance to relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
•Provide functional People Management expertise and convert business requirements into integrated people solutions, whilst providing consultative and advisory services.

Position Outputs
•Drive the development and execution of a comprehensive, integrated People Plan for the Corridor / functional department aligned to the approved organisational strategy, Transnet People Management strategy as well as identified business needs. •Effective and efficient implementation of strategic people initiatives, policies and processes (across the People value chain) in line with business needs and towards the attainment of organisation objectives. •Influence and lead the diversity, transformation and strategic agenda by contributing to the Corridor / departmental strategy as well as the TRIM People Strategy. •Provide leadership, guidance and advisory service to the respective functional leaders on people related matters. •Lead and manage a cross functional people management team by inspiring, motivating and empowering the team. •Lead the identification, monitoring and mitigation of people related risks for the Corridor / functional department.
•Drive People related governance and compliance including adherence to relevant legislation and internal controls •Lead the development and implementation of the training and development strategy and the workplace skills plan for the Corridor / functional department. •Identify and lead the effective implementation of organisational change management initiatives within the Corridor / functional department. Lead the implementation of programmes that are aimed at improving employee engagement, morale and productivity. •Manage and ensure the integrity of people related data. •Analyse and interpret human capital data (absenteeism, overtime, employee relations, etc.) to identify trends and develop interventions to address appropriately. •Proactively support and advise line managers and employees on ER related issues to drive and sustain a motivated workforce and sound labour relations climate. •Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
•Drive the implementation of a comprehensive and integrated talent management strategy and framework across the HC value chain, which includes workforce planning, attracting, sourcing and retention of talent, capacity building, performance management and monetary and non-monetary reward programmes. •Ensure the implementation and utilisation of health and wellness service offerings. •Drive the development and implementation of tailored health and wellness programmes with the Corridor / functional department based on emerging trends to drive a healthy and productive workforce. •Ensures the implementation of a proactive People plan and programme for dealing with social challenges faced by the employees with respect to the areas of health and wellness, counselling, amenities, education and housing. •Manage the departmental budget to ensure that costs are managed within agreed limits.
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND INHERENT JOB REQUIREMENTS: • B Degree in Human Resources or equivalent related qualification • Post-graduate qualification would be an added advantage. • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in People Management of which at least 5 years should be at a senior management level within a large organisation • Must undergo Lifestyle Audit STANDARD REQUIREMENTS: • Driver’s license code 8 • Travel as required by the business

Position Purpose
Assist the Train Driver in the safe and efficient driving/handling of all different types of trains/locomotives consists (airbrake, vacuum, high speed, heavy haul and passengers) to ensure that the customers freight/cargo reaches its destination in good condition, on time, in order to enable the organisation to satisfy the customer needs.
Position Outputs

6.Assist the train driver enroute to ensure the safe movement of the tarin from a required point to the destination, without delays or damage to locomotives, wagons, infrastructure track and other equipment, to ensure predictable service. •Verbally compare signal positions and display with train driver. •Observe proceeding trains patrol locomotives. •Reset locomotive trip outs. •Observe safe running of train. •Protect train during incidents. •Assist Train Driver during emergency circumstances. 7.Comply to safety standards and laid down instruction to ensure that he is well motivated and competent. 8.Provide accurate feedback timeously to the Train Driver regarding any incidents and deviations along the route.

Position Purpose
• To provide a single point of contact for end-users to receive technical support of information technology equipment at the Transnet sites that he/she will be supporting, by installing, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all computer hardware and software as well as disaster recovery, business continuity planning, business phone solutions and security solutions to ensure optimal workstation performance. To provide continual and reliable desktop support for all Transnet users in order that all the required business activities can continue functioning. This includes all facets of the Desktop environment in order to achieve no downtime and zero call backs. Moreover, the functions of this position have become multi-functional Desktop Engineers supporting hardware, software, servers, printers, multimedia, networking and mobility and video conferencing.
Position Outputs
1. Ensure uptime of network, internet, mail connectivity, end user logon access and reliability of equipment used. 2. Using hardware and software tools effectively to ensure efficient business processes. 3. Supporting end users’ access to servers and basic troubleshooting. 4. Backup management of user data on laptops, IPADs, cellular devices and small systems. Management of backup tapes and off-site storage areas (if applicable) 5. Assisting with basic server configurations, particularly around file sharing, printers, or other resources that are part of the desktop support technician’s scope.

Position Purpose
The Divisional Company Secretary is a full statutory, compliance function whose role is to oversee the systems, procedures and processes by which Transnet Property is managed to ensure a high standard of corporate governance. The incumbent will provide Secretariat support for EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES, minute taking, resolutions, gift registers, declarations of interest, policy universe, DoAs including logistics covering both Corporate and Regions. In addition, the role oversees records management and archiving functions.
Position Outputs
Management of company secretariat services/functions: Coordinate the preparation of the schedule of the Transnet Property EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES meetings for the year. Coordinate the preparation of agendas for these meetings in conjunction with the Chairperson and key executives. Coordinate the distribution of relevant reports for presentation at meetings timeously so that members can adequately prepare. Coordinate the drafting and circulating of written EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES resolutions. Ensure that information is dispatched timeously to all Executives to enable them to prepare adequately for these meetings. Take minutes of these meetings and ensure they are distributed as soon as possible after the meeting to aid Executives in implementing the decisions. Being the custodian of all statutory minute books registers and related confidential documentation.
Administer the DOA process: Administer the DOA process. Cascade the approved Group Limits of Authority. Draft and keep proper records of Special Delegations of Authority from the Chief Executive Officer to members of the TP Executive Committee and maintain a line of sight to ensure that the authority is correctly delegated.
Monitoring and driving of corporate governance throughout the Transnet Property: Engage with Group Company Secretariat Office. Provide the EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES with guidance in their duties, responsibilities and powers and make them aware of all laws and regulations relevant to the company, including advice on business ethics and good governance. Make Executive aware of all relevant laws and regulations ensuring that they adhere to the highest governance standards and report any failure to comply. Develop and maintain a system for compliance monitoring and reporting across Transnet Property, ensuring that the Executive and management operate within an authority framework approved by the EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES and reviewed and updated from time to time. Provide Executive with guidance in their duties, responsibilities and powers and make Executive aware of all laws and regulations relevant to the Property. This includes the provision of advice on business ethics and good governance.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure stakeholder satisfaction and adherence to governance guidelines. Maintenance of mandates for the EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES, the Property Forum and its committees, and assists with the management of the EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES delegated authorities. Monitor compliance with statutory provisions of relevant legislation, and that statutory deadlines are met and statutory and regulatory disclosures are validated, particularly in relation to statements given on corporate governance standards and practices.
Maintenance of all statutory records and submissions of statutory returns in compliance with the statutory provisions of the Companies Act. Monitoring and keeping abreast of corporate governance developments, both locally, internationally, and where appropriate recommends to EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES for their inclusion in the existing governance practices. Remain abreast of developments in corporate governance and ensure EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES adhere to the highest governance standards (“King III/IV”).
Executive Orientation and on-going corporate governance training: Provide new Executive with an information pack relating to specific matters pertaining to the company and industry in which it operates. Where appropriate, arrange for visits to operations and meetings with key executives for Executive to familiarise themselves with the business. Coordinate identification and compilation of training requirements for Executive, where relevant and ensure that there is an ongoing programme to keep Executive well informed of developments in the company and in respect of matters relevant to their responsibilities in general. Monitor the performance and effectiveness of the EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES in discharging its duties and obligations annually through a formal review.
Secretarial functions to various TP Committees: Ensure that the EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES policies and instructions are communicated to the relevant persons in the company and that pertinent issues from management are referred back to the EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES where appropriate. Develop a confident relationship with the Chairperson, and assist the Chairperson in formulating priorities in the EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES for consideration by the EXCO AND SUB COMMITTEES. Position Purpose

• Drive the renewal and modernisation of the railway signalling and Train Control systems to improve the velocity on the next and thereby reducing energy consumption and improving the productive output of the railway network within and across Operating Corridors.
• Develop and Scan rail market for technologies that are technical suitable and cost effective for TRIM’s railway network.
• Develop bankable major engineering CAPEX and COPEX projects and ensure specifications, quality, costs and project timeline compliance.

• Minimum 12 years’ experience in a Senior Engineering Environment of which at least 5 -7 years in a senior managerial role.

Position Purpose

Position Outputs

Position Purpose

Position Purpose
The Specialist Big Data Science & provides guidance and support in the design, development, release, and maintenance of Data Warehouse and Data Mart systems, and related applications or services (e.g. reporting) for Transnet Freight Rail (TFR).
The individual works closely with customers, vendors / service providers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify and maximise opportunities for using Data Warehouse systems to improve business processes, promote strategic use of Information Technology across TFR and enable the workforce to use technologies.
