COST CONTROLLER
Location: Centurion
Division: Project Management & Implementation
Reports to: Senior Manager: Project Office
Total Guaranteed Package Market related
 
The purpose of this position:
Develop, implement, and maintain the project cost baseline document.
Develop and maintain the project cashflow baseline document.
Report on cost performance against contractual commitments and project cost baseline documents.
Implement proper project cost control governance framework.
Track project expenditures against the approved project baseline and execute the required change management
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Project cost baseline document which is aligned with the project cost estimate and approved funding, work breakdown structure and the procurement / contracting strategy.
• Monitoring and tracking and management of project changes against the approved project cost baseline and the project charter budget.
• Coordination of cost inputs, forecasting and project cost changes to enable execution of accurate cost report..
• Project management of change process against cost baseline documents and contractual commitments.
• Conducts assurances to ensure compliance by external service providers with the agreed management of change procedure.
• Obtains / compiles cost estimate of the proposed
• Project management of change process against cost baseline documents and contractual commitments in collaboration with Finance Division and Department of Water and Sanitation.

• Maintain close awareness on overall project invoicing and, as a signatory support the verification processes through internal and external meetings to ensure value for money in line with contract agreement.
• Maintain and improve the standard of cost reporting and ensure that the project health status is reflected through accurate tracking and reporting of changes and risk and the remaining contingencies and risk allowances.
 
REQUIREMENTS
• B Degree/B Tech in Quantity Survey, BCom, or equivalent
• At least 6 years experience in Project Cost Control or QS Experience
• SACQSP registration preferred
• Preferably work experience in large infrastructure construction project environment
