IT SUPPORT ENGINEER
Location: Centurion
Division: Enterprise-Wide Support Services (EWSS)
Reports to: Manager: Infrastructure and Applications
Nature of employment: Permanent
Total Guaranteed Pay: Market Related
The purpose of this role is to: Provide 1st line backup and support for IT resources and systems.
THE KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS OF THE ROLE IN FOCUS, ARE
1. IT Diagnostics
- Diagnosing computer hardware, network systems and computer software programs accurately and quickly.
- Reading technical manuals, conferring with users, or conducting computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.
- Reading trade magazines and technical manuals or attend conferences and seminars to maintain knowledge of hardware and software.
2. Technical Assistance to Computer Users
- Walking users through problems, training them to install software packages and responding to questions about network systems.
- Answering user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.
- Setting up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
3. Data/Document Management
- Maintaining records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
- Documenting standard operating procedures e.g., repair, replacement, and maintenance of equipment.
4. End-user Training
- Developing training materials and procedures, or training users in the proper use of hardware or software.
- Teaching others to use computer equipment or hardware.
- Training others in computer interface or software use.
5. Devices and systems
- Software:
- Testing software performance.
- Monitoring computer system performance to ensure proper operation.
- Hardware:
- Overseeing new equipment installations with contracted vendors.
- Testing computer hardware performance.
- Operating Systems:
- Entering commands and observing system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
6. Governance
- Ensure all governance and processes are followed in the end-user support process.
- Participate in the relevant governance committees and provide information and statistics to inform decision making.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma
- Certifications: A+, N+, MCSE or related
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years end-user support.

SENIOR MANAGER: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Location: Centurion

Reports to: Executive Manager: EwSS
Nature of employment: Permanent

The purpose of this role is to:
Provide strategic leadership and operational accountability to build and develop an effective and efficient Information Technology (IT) function that will ensure timeous and cost- effective delivery of IT services.
THE KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS OF THE ROLE IN FOCUS, ARE:
Strategic Direction and Alignment
- Leading and developing the IT functional strategy and objectives in line with the TCTA Strategy.
- Developing IT functional operational plans and KPI’s in support of the function’s strategy and the TCTA’s overall strategy.
- Driving the implementation of the IT functional strategy, plans, and procedures to compliment and support the TCTA Strategy.
- Keep abreast of new developments and best practice in ICT internationally and locally.
Forecasting, Budgeting and Financial Management
- Preparing the IT Department budget for approval.
- Directing and overseeing the funding of IT Departmental operations and budgeted activities.
- Overseeing and monitoring IT Department expenditure within budgeted parameters and reporting on variances periodically.
IT Service Delivery
- Providing strategic leadership regarding all operations of the IT Department, which include:
- The effective provisioning of Service delivery management services.
- The effective provisioning of Infrastructure and Operations management services.
- The effective provisioning of Systems and Application Development, Enhancement and Maintenance management service.
Governance and Reporting
- Monitoring and reporting on progress against the IT Departmental strategic initiatives.
- Monitoring and reporting on legislative and statutory compliance as defined by government.
- Promoting sound institutional governance principles through effective planning, maintenance of operations and service standards, management of compliance and risk and participating in TCTA’s governance structures.
- Managing the strategic relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.
People management
- Leading, mentoring, and empowering employees and change within the IT Department to promote high performance, optimal working environment and cost-effective operations.
- Guiding and influencing strategic leadership in embedding the values and desired culture of TCTA.
- Driving a high-performance culture by taking accountability for an effective and well-articulated performance management process.
Participate in Organisational activities
- Number of committees the employee participates in supported by positive feedback for the stakeholders
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Honours degree in IT or similar.
- Minimum 10 years’ work experience in ICT with at least 5 years in a senior management position.

INTERIM HR AND PAYROLL SPECIALIST
Location: Centurion
Division: HR&OD (Total Rewards)
Reports to: Senior Manager: Total Rewards
Nature of employment: 7 Months Fixed-term
Total Guaranteed Pay: Market related
The purpose of this role is to:
• Assist the Senior Manager: Total Rewards with the implementation, testing and data migration of the SAGE 300 People System payroll module and other components, working closely with the Senior Manager: Total Rewards.
• The resource will ensure system readiness, manage payroll reconciliation during the parallel run, and support post-implementation tasks, including compliance and skill transfer.
THE KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS OF THE ROLE IN FOCUS, ARE:
1. Assists with the implementation of the SAGE 300 People HR modules,
2. Conduct the testing of the data migration as provided by the legacy service provider,
3. Ensure action plans relating to prior year audit findings are adequately addressed within the configuration and build of the new system,
4. Runs the data migration testing process in consultation with the internal auditor's process,
5. Runs the parallel run on payroll ensuring system alignment to legacy system,
6. Manage the leave take-on and provision process to ensure that no accruals and provisions are missed at year-end,
7. Actively review the implementation as they are being prepared to ensure adequate supporting documents are maintained,
8. Actively participates in the UAT process, highlighting system challenges for improvement,
9. Review of the changes as and when they occur to ensure these align with the final version of the HR requirements before sign-offs,
10. Ensure transfer of skills to the HR Administrator and the Payroll and Reward Specialist.
11. Take on ad-hoc requests relating to the project implementation as assigned by the Senior Manager: Total Rewards.
REQUIREMENTS
• B–Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management qualification with at least 8 -10 years’ of experience in HR and Payroll Management and administration with experience of transitioning from one ERP system to another.
