Title: Specialist Member of the ICT Steering Committee

INTRODUCTION
The Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority (TCTA) hereby invites suitably qualified and experienced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) professionals to serve as Specialist Members of the ICT Steering Committee of TCTA. The ICT Steering Committee is a sub-committee of the Executive Committee (EXCO) and reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The ICT Steering Committee may also be requested to make presentations to EXCO or the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC).
Please note that this is a not a permanent position. The ICT Steering Committee is required to meet at least once each quarter of the financial year. Additional meetings may be suggested and voted on by the members. Specialist Members will attend meetings as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Specialist Members will be expected to execute the following responsibilities:
1. Contribute to the preparation of the Committee agenda and annual programme.
2. Prepare for each meeting of the Committee in advance.
3. Provide specialist advice and knowledge on matters under discussion.
4. Contribute towards crafting of the ICT strategy, governance charter and framework, policies, project plans/charters, etc.
5. Contribute towards the establishment of business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and plans.
6. Give advice on market trends and the annual ICT plan, including priority areas.
7. Review ICT budget.
8. Review tender specification documents and give advice on request.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and Experience
1. A post graduate qualification in Information Technology or related studies.
2. Strong knowledge in the following areas of ICT:
a. Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC)
b. Strategic planning
c. Enterprise Resource Planning implementation
d. Cloud Computing
e. Outsourcing
f. Project management
3. Candidates should demonstrate experience in serving on similar committees, especially in the public sector.
4. The ability to dedicate time to the activities of the ICT Steering Committee.

1. Strong leadership and ICT technical skills
2. Ability to analyse problems and propose solutions
3. Strong project management
4. Policy formulation
Personal Attributes
1. Detail-oriented and ability to see the bigger picture to set clear direction and goals in line with organisational priorities.
2. Excellent planning and critical thinking.
3. Excellent communication skills, and ability to communicate and present at all levels.

ASSESSMENT
Shortlisted candidates must be willing to undergo an assessment process, including a panel interview.
