Business Unit: Export Development & Promotion
MANAGER: EXPORT PROMOTION
Reporting to: Executive Manger: Export Development & Promotion
Job Grade: D1
Duration: Permanent
Brief Outline of Duties:
To promote products that are manufactured and supplied by KZN-based industries to achieve improved export trade performance of KZN products.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (Among others)
1. Export Promotion programme management.
2. Trade and Export Growth Sector promotion.
3. KZN Trader Promotion.
4. Market Intelligence and Trade Analysis.
5. Export Funding facilitation.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Educational and /or Technical Competencies:
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Trade Facilitation, or related qualification is essential.
• Project Management qualification would be an added advantage.
• Valid driver’s licence.
Experience:
• 5 years of industry experience in export facilitation and international marketing.
• 3-5 years managerial experience.
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
• Technical Mastery of International Trade Regulations
• Ability to identify export promotion initiatives and execute trade missions and exhibitions timeously.
• Ability to work with emerging, existing and seasoned exporters
• Ability to work with smme’s and large businesses
• Provide market intelligence to companies.
• Relevant South African legislature
• Ability to analyse, conceptualise and implement policy.
• Sound leadership Management skills.
• Ability to work in cross-functional projects/teams.
• Excellent co-ordination and project management skills.
• Computer literate at an intermediate level.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good time-management

Duration: Permanent
Brief Outline of Duties:
To conceptually develop, coordinate and solicit funding for the development of high impact agriculture or related projects, including assessing project proposals and analysis of economic and financial viability of projects in order to obtain financing commitments, facilitate funding receipts, including loan and equity transactions in collaboration with the Investment Promotion Unit at TIKZN.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (Among others)
1. Economic insight.
2. Trade and investment opportunities packaging.
3. Development of feasibility studies.
4. Development of business plans.
5. Stakeholder engagement.
6. Technical analysis and advice on projects.
7. Sector management and development.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Educational and /or Technical Competencies:
• Honours degree in Agricultural Economics or related discipline is essential.
• Master’s degree in Agricultural economics or related discipline preferred.
• Recognised Project Management certificate would be an added advantage.
Experience:
• 3-5 years’ experience at equivalent level.
• Must have a thorough understanding and experience in project planning.
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
• Thorough knowledge of the agricultural sector specific industries and applicable legislation.
• Project Packaging (Including but not limited to financial modelling)
• Knowledge of the Investment Promotion environment would be advantageous.
• Basic understanding in Export Promotion.
