(Term contract linked to term of Executive Mayor)

The successful incumbent will report to the Manager Councillor Support.
Minimum Requirements: ● Grade 12 ● Minimum of 2-years relevant experience ● Computer literacy in MS Office applications.
Other Requirements: ● Sound inter personal management skills ● Ability to work under pressure and with conflicting deadlines ● must be able to communicate on all levels (councillors/public/administration) ● Hardworking and willing to work outside normal working hours including overtime ● conflict management skills ● Strong communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (written and verbal) ● punctual and reliable ● attention to detail ● strong administrative skills ● Strong organisational skills ● Client Orientation & Customer Focus; ●Understand the roles, functions, responsibilities and separation of administration and politics ● Ability to work with high degree of confidentiality.
Responsibilities/Duties: ● Manage the offices of the Members of Mayco and Council whip ● provide the administrative and logistical support to the Executive members allocated to him/her ● compile reports and communications for the Executive on instruction ● prepare meeting packs and handle the administration of meetings, e.g. minutes, liaison if and where necessary ● do research and assist with the compilation of presentation as and when required; ● assist with the delivery, collection, coordination of documentation if and when required;
Added advantage: A valid Code B driver’s licence. Preference will be given to residence of the WC024.

WARD ADMINISTRATOR (WARDS: 12 & 22/23)

The successful incumbent will report to: Executive Support Officer
Minimum Requirements: Senior certificate (Grade 12) ● 2 years’ relevant work experience
Other requirements: Good reporting and writing skills ● Computer literacy ● typing skills ●Ability to take minutes of meetings ●Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages in the Western Cape (Afrikaans/English/Xhosa) ● Must be a resident in the respective ward (proof of residency to be provided with application) ● be willing to work overtime if and when required● be willing to work odd hours if and when required. ● attention to detail ● work under conflicting deadlines and stress
Responsibilities/Duties: Act as a referral point and facilitate interaction between Ward residents, ward councillor(s) and the Municipality ● Liaise with Ward Councillors, Ward Committee Members, Community Development Workers (CDW’s), Interest Groups and Communities regarding ward issues •Deliver an administrative service to Ward Councillor(s) and Ward Committee •Organising of meetings ● typing and distributing of agendas and minutes● any other reasonable instruction related to the ward committee functions
Added advantage: Proficiency in English; ● Valid Code B driver’s licence ●
