Key Responsibility Areas 
The role will be responsible to execute complex application development, maintenance projects and services and provide innovative solutions and products that resolve challenges of government service delivery.   • Ensure execution of and participate in comprehensive test activities to test program functionality for new and existing applications in compliance with SITA test methods and testing techniques using SITA approved testing tools 
  • Lead, manage and execute packaging and releasing of integrated IT software components in accordance with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government
  • Evaluate existing applications responsible for and understand how to modernize. 
 
Qualifications and Experience 
Required Qualification: minimum 3 – 4-year National Higher Diploma / National Degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science /Information Technology or relevant qualification equivalent to NQF Level 6. 
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science /Information Technology or relevant equivalent NQF 
Level 7 OR 8 Will be an added advantage. A post graduate qualification OR Bachelor’s Degree in Software 
Engineering/ Computer Science /Information Technology or relevant equivalent NQF Level 7 OR 8 Will be an added advantage. 
 
Certification: Vendor certification for applications will be an added advantage. 
Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in the application/systems development, implementation and maintenance/enhancements of integrated solutions across multiple hardware and software platforms with senior operational responsibility in a large corporate/public sector organization, with minimum of 10 years as Senior Software Developer including: Extensive experience in Mainframe, COBOL IMS, Assembler programming and related software development. Purpose of the job 
To lead the design, implementation, debugging, documentation, release and maintenance of software-based solutions, write code and enhance software/systems in accordance with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government. 
 
Key Responsibility Area 
·       Lead the design and development of new features for the software systems, and improvement of existing ones. 
·       Implementation, debugging, documentation and release of software solutions in a DevOps Environment. 
·       Provide maintenance, enhancement and support of the existing DevOps Platform. 
·       Perform software systems scripting in a DevOps Platform. 
  • Supervision of the DevOps Engineering development team. 
 
Qualifications and Experience 
 
Minimum: 3-year National Higher Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in ICT (Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology and Engineering) or related field. 
 
Added Advantage: Any of the following Certification in Linux, DevOps, Docker or Kubernetes. 
Experience: 6 - 7 years’ experience with full software development lifecycle (SLDC), including solution development, operational responsibility in a large corporate/public sector organisation. 
Minimum 3 years’ extensive DevOps experience: •Utilise DevOps tools/technologies to establish automated CI/CD pipelines lifecycle for .Net and Java related solutions • Designing and implementing Docker, Docker Hub and Kubernetes DevOps solutions in a Cloud Infrastructure environment • GitLab • Windows Operating System • Linux Operating System • Design and implement monitoring reporting in a DevOps Environment • Understand HTTP(S), SSL certificates, Firewalls, Docker Networking, Docker Volumes/Binds, Environment Variables and VPNs • The experience must include experience in solution analysis, design, and development for the development, implementation and maintenance/enhancements of systems within the corporate/public sector, including: Successfully developed and implemented applications using a DevOps Practice, underpinning Agile methodologies. Software development team leadership competency Software development deliverable effort planning, estimations and execution management Developed efficient and effective IT solutions to diverse and complex business problems. Extensive experience with working on multiple tasks and report status. Experience in interacting with customers. 

Technical Competencies Description 
Knowledge of: Broad and extensive knowledge of software development processes, practices and its technologies. Extensive knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of software requirements specifications, models and designs. Strong knowledge of user interfaces. Strong knowledge of solution Integration strategies and tools Working knowledge of Cloud Computing Strong knowledge of source control and version control tools like Git and SVN Working knowledge of virtualisation and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) Working knowledge of DevOps (Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Testing, Continuous Monitoring Infrastructure as Code, Config Management) Working knowledge of Agile Methodologies (Feature-Driven Development, Test-Driven Development, Scrum, Extreme Programming) Extensive background in coding Extensive knowledge of software testing techniques and tools.

Purpose of the job 
The role is to manage and co-ordinate service management and/or project management, be accountable for financial management, supplier/ contract management, Human Resources, and ICT services at a unit level. The Technical Manager will also be in charge of maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications needed to keep the business operational. This includes the monitoring of service level agreements and customer expectations. 
 
Key Responsibility Area 
  • Ensure that projects match business needs and requirements, furnish end-user requirements. 
  • Reviews requests for application changes, upgrades, and enhancements to ensure they meet the needs of the business. 
  • Manage and provide guidance to the team on Applications services processes and procedures as to their use to ensure compliance with standards to maintain the quality of developed applications. 
  • Responsible for the delivery of new feature functionality, as well as the production support for in scope Applications and services. 
  • Serve as a communication point between Business and the customers for Applications projects and services responsible for and ensure that service level agreements and customer expectations are met. 
  • Develop and manage the implementation of the modernization plan for current legacy systems responsible for. 
  • Responsible for the establishment of contracts with suppliers, on behalf of the users. (Procurement processes) 
  • Responsible for contract management with suppliers, on behalf of the user. (Ensuring suppliers adhere to the various contracts; Setting up required meetings; Receive monthly invoices from the suppliers and process the payment of the invoices from SITA to the suppliers; Invoicing to the user). 
 
Qualifications and Experience 
Minimum: 3 – 4 Year National Diploma / Degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science /Information Technology or relevant qualification equivalent to NQF Level 6. 
Certification: Vendor certification for applications will be an added advantage. 
Experience: A minimum of 8 years in the ICT field, including IT Governance, IT Planning, systems development/procurement, implementation and maintenance/enhancements of integrated solutions across multiple hardware and software platforms with leadership, management, operational responsibility in a large corporate/public sector organisation including: minimum 3 years’ experience in a management/leadership level/role. Experience should include the following: Application Lifecycle Management experience including exposure to Agile methodology, .Net, and Web Services development as an added advantage. Experience with large to very large enterprise environments which include multiple site locations Hands-on technical development experience. Experience in designing, developing, and writing code for programs, reports, interfaces. Experience in preparing technical design, training, and deployment documentation. Extensive experience in interacting with customers. 
Experience in the establishment and management of contracts with suppliers will be an added advantage. 
 
Technical Competencies Description 
Application Solution/Systems Development, Maintenance & Implementation. In-depth knowledge of SDLC methodologies and best practices. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum project methodologies.
