POSITION STATUS : Fixed Term Contract – 5 years
Purpose of the job
The Chief Financial Officer position is accountable for the administrative and financial management operations of SITA, development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets, report accurate financial results in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act in order to ensure financial viability and sustainability of the company.
Key Responsibility Areas
Develop and execute financial strategy of the company by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis and recommendations;
Provide strategic financial advice on revenue management and costs reduction;
Manage financial controls and accounting procedures;
Drive the company’s financial planning;
Manage the capital request and budgeting processes;
Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments;
Overseeing of the legal services, facility management and physical security;
Provide leadership and drive human capital management of the division; and
Financial and business management.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in in accounting, finance or related field and
Qualified Chartered Accountant CA (SA).
Experience:
12 years professional experience in the accounting field, of which at least 8 years should be at a senior financial managerial position in a large organisation or professional services firm.
Technical Competencies Description
Knowledge: Treasury Regulations; PFMA; internal and external financial audit procedures; financial management systems and processes; KING III and IV, Companies Act; revenue management strategies; corporate financial law and risk management practices; data analysis and forecasting methods.
Skills: Vendor management; Stakeholder management; Communication; People management; Project management; Problem solving; Process management and improvement.
Other Special Requirements
The incumbent will be required to drive continuous improvement in their service lines and should have/be:
Exceptional strategic thinking and analysis capabilities;
High ethical standards and professionalism;
Business and analytical acumen with ability to manipulate and interpret financial and business data;
Visionary and transformational leader with decisiveness and emotional intelligence; and
Ability to interact at the board level.
