The Special Investigating Unit (SIU), a Schedule 3A entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), is an independent statutory body that was established in terms of the Special Investigating Units and Special Tribunals Act No. 74 of 1996. The primary mandate of the SIU is to investigate allegations of corruption, malpractice and maladministration in government departments, municipalities and State-Owned Entities, and to recover financial losses suffered by State institutions.

Job description
Main purpose: Reporting directly to the Head of the Unit (HoU), the incumbent will manage and coordinate the HoU’s Office to ensure its effective operation within the organisation. The incumbent will act as a liaison person to HoU’s stakeholders, draw up meeting agendas and monitor EXCO meetings and other HoU-related deliverables.
Key performance areas (Include but are not limited to): Administration support to the HoU. Project, Budget and People Management. Stakeholder Management in the HoU’s office. Organisation Alignment. Executive Alignment. Legal Research to support the decisions and reports of the HoU and his office.

Minimum requirements
LLB or related NQF 8. LLM or MBA would be an added advantage. Five to eight years’ experience as a Chief of Staff or providing executive support to the Chief Executive / at an executive level. At least 4 years of management experience. Experience in a similar industry or legal environment will be an added advantage.

Job description
Main purpose: To proactively manage, monitor and provide strategic advisory services on programme and project implementation across the organisation using best practice project management methodologies/technologies and provide guidance to the team of project coordinators.
Key performance areas (Include but not limited to): Define and ensure the embedding of best practice project management architecture, methodologies, norms and procedures across the organisation. Direct and provide strategic advice in project design, planning and delivery in terms of service level agreements. Develop and continuously sustain partnerships with internal divisions/business units/service partners to ensure project quality and successful implementation. Define and ensure the embedding of the best practice dashboard system to monitor, evaluate and report on project implementation in terms of service level agreements. Assure the embedding of risks, compliance and quality improvement in all project management business processes. Manage Business Unit resources (finance, assets and people). Ensure a systematic evaluation and analysis of organisational performance. Manage organisational evaluation studies. Conduct surveys on the organisation’s programmes, projects and activities.
Technical skills: Able to demonstrate Knowledge of project management methodologies, processes and best practice technology. Familiar with project, programme guidance contained in PFMA and National Treasury regulations. Experience using project management software (MS Project, Sciforma, PPO, etc.). Solid project risk management exposure contained in Public Risk Management Framework, Proven project, programme management skills and expertise. Knowledge of financial management principles.

Minimum requirements
B Degree in Project Management or Programme Management or Engineering or Business Management or related field (NQF 7). An Honours Degree or Post Graduate Diploma will be an added advantage. 5 years’ experience working in a Project or Programme Management Office environment with hands-on experience of leading projects across the full life cycle, of which 2 years is at a management/supervisory level. Experience in the public sector and/or forensic investigations is advantageous.

To lead a team to mitigate the risk and respond to incidents, and also collaborate with other State agencies (State Security Agency SSA), South African Police Service (SAPS, National Prosecution Authority (NPA) and Defence intelligence to address threats and intimidations and recommendations to mitigate the risks.

SSA Security Advisory/Management course as an added advantage.
