The following educator staff vacancies currently exist at South West Gauteng TVET College, although the employer for staff members employed in these positions, will be the Department of Higher Education and Training.

Lecturing Vacancies
Salary scale: Education Specialist/ Senior Lecturer (PL2) R347 703 per annum excluding benefits.
Management -Ref: TECH/SL/MAN/2020
REQUIREMENTS:
- Three-year relevant teacher’s qualification.
- 3 years relevant experience.
- Registration with SACE (South African Council of Educators).
- A valid driver’s license
Main objectives and key functions:
- to engage in learning / facilitating as per workload of the relevant post level and the needs of the college
- mark sheets and records of assessment to assess and record the attainment of learners
- to provide and co-ordinate guidance;
- on the latest development on approaches to the subject or program, methods, techniques, assessment, aids, etc. in the field and effectively convey these to the staff members concerned (including matters related to unit standards, learnerships, the NQF, SAQA and assessment).
- On syllabuses, schemes of work, homework, practical work, remedial work, learner portfolios, learner packs, modules, etc
- To inexperienced or newly appointed staff members
- On the educational wellness of learners in the subject or programme
- to control the work of educators and learners in the subject or programme, test and examination papers as well as memoranda (where applicable), assessment portfolios the administrative responsibilities of staff members
- the budget of the subject or program
- to share in the responsibilities of organizing and conducting extra and co-curricular activities
- to advise regarding the division of work among the staff in the subject or programme
- to participate in agreed educator appraisal processes in order to regularly review professional practice with the aim of improving learning and management
- to advise the skills development facilitator regarding training and development needs of personnel
- to initiate and monitor program development and to jointly set up a personal growth plan for each member of staff he/she are responsible for
- to assist with the planning and management of college stock, text books, learner packs and support material and equipment for the subject or program
- the budget for the subject or programme subject or programme work schemes and policies
- chairperson at senior lecturer meetings, secretary of senior lecturer meetings
- general / administrative of time tabling, learner support, learner counselling, learner job placement, registrations, part-time programs, national examinations and assessment
- to co-operate with colleagues in order to maintain good learning and teaching standard and progress among the learners and to foster administrative efficiency within the subject or programme and the college
- To collaborate and network with educators of other colleges in developing the subject or programme and conducting extra-curricular activities.
- To meet parents and guardians to discuss with them the progress, attendance and conduct of their children
- To participate in subject or programme professional committees, seminars and workshops in order to contribute to and / or update professional views and standards
- Closely advice, assess and moderate all ICASS, CAT and ISAT activities in the department
- To co-operate with further and higher education institutions in relation to learner’ records and performance and career opportunities

Lecturer Support System-Ref: HO/SL/LSS/2020
Lecturer Support System:
The Lecturer Support Systems Managers should have a passion for developing and supporting lecturers, and excellent communication skills.
Job purpose: Planning for lecturer development, monitoring and supporting the implementation of Lecturer Support Systems strategies within the college
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:
- A minimum bachelor’s degree/or higher, which includes a teaching qualification. Specializing in Human Resource Management.
- A Skills Development Facilitator qualification and generic qualifications that include assessment, moderation, facilitation, occupationally directed training and development practices.
Experience:
- A minimum of seven years of experience in Education of which three years is in educational management, organizational development, and talent development.
- Recommendations: Knowledge and understanding of the Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Skills Development Act, and work skills plans, Integrated Quality Management Systems, Continuous Education and Training Act No 16 of 2006.
- Good interpersonal relations, effective presentation skills, leadership skills, advanced computer skills and the ability to update and maintain an online learning platform
DUTIES:
- Implement the LSS Plan.
- Capacitate lecturers to improve curriculum delivery.
- Facilitate the implementation of IQMS in the college.
- Develop policies, guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that LSS plans are implemented at campus level.
- Ensure that online lecturer support system is maintained and updated always.
- Provision of reports and statistics including information management.
- Manage implementation and monitoring of IQMS.
- Facilitate lecturer training.
- Ensure time is allocated to support LSS activities
- Lead in LSS Advocacy at the College.
- Ensuring correct LSS registration and training of LSS Facilitators and lecturers.
- Supervising, monitoring and supporting LSS Facilitators for implementation of LSS Activities.
- Reporting and accounting on LSS activities to the DHET LSS Office.

Administration Vacancies
Assistant Director: Salary Level 9: R376 596 per annum excluding benefits
Internal Auditor-Ref: HO/IA/2020
Requirements:
- A National Diploma/Degree in Internal Auditing or related field.
- Membership of the IIA SA
- Three year’s work experience in public accounting, internal auditing or directly applicable experience.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Key Performance Areas:
Develop internal audit plan on the basis of the key risk areas:
- Development of Internal Audit Charter. Development of the three years’ rolling internal audit plan.
- Development of the annual Internal Audit operational plan.
- Development of Internal Audit Methodology.
Perform internal audit services in identified areas of the college:
- Execute the allocated internal audits.
- Develop findings and recommendations for the enhancement of controls/ processes.
- Compile audit report for each engagement.
- Monitor progress on the implementation of agreed upon action plans.
- Execute ad-hoc/special project as agreed with management.
- Participate in the co-ordination with other internal and external service providers of assurance to ensure proper coverage to minimize duplication of effort.
Co-ordinate risk management activities:
- Assist in the development of ERM policy and framework as well as strategy.

PROJECT MANAGER: Ref: HO/PM/2020
TVET COLLEGE CAPITAL AND EFFICIENCY GRANT
REQUIREMENTS:
- An appropriate Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma (NQF level 6/7) or equivalent qualification specializing in construction.
- At least 3-year experience in managing construction projects.
- A postgraduate qualification will be added advantage.
- A valid driver’s licence is a prerequisite.
- The position requires an individual with a conceptual understanding of the rules and standards governing projects are spelt out by the job packaging/statutory requirements.
- Further requirements are management experience in project management. Good communication; written and spoken skills. Proficiency in analysing and solving problems related to projects.
- Outstanding human relation skills evident in the ability to work with the team and excellence in gathering help needed in developing a working project management plan.
- Strong ability to give attention to details as well as tested organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in using modern information and communication technologies to projects.
- Adherence to project specifications, as well as to regulatory body guidelines for the projects.
- Knowledge of procurement processes.
DUTIES:
- The incumbent will be responsible to supervise different tasks in completing construction or repairs and maintenance projects.
- Responsible for the flow of information from the college level project supervisor (the organisational point where the service/projects is requested) to the team regarding the projects in the Department of Higher Education and Training. (Department).

Job Title: Music Jazz Program- Report 191/Nated (Temp)
Minimum Requirements
- A recognized 3-year Degree/Diploma Teachers, Registration with SACE (South African Council of Educators).
- Knowledge of Sound Engineering. Good Piano Theory & Practical Knowledge.
- Improvisation, Aural & Ensemble. Knowledge of running an Ensemble/s.
- Knowledge of Aural Work both Theory & Practical.
- Ability to monitor students’ performance and provide critical feedback in an objective and professional manner.
- Ability to relate to students in a professional manner and to promote a conducive teaching and learning environment.
Duties and responsibilities: Assist with registration and induction of students. Facilitate general academic and career development of students. Prepare lesson plans and lecturer students in compliance with the College Annual Academic Plan, the Campus timetable and the College Quality Management System. Assess students, maintain assessment records and capture marks electronically in compliance with the College’s policies and procedures. Create a conducive classroom environment and ensure efficient classroom management and discipline of student’s. Report to the Senior Lecturer and liaise with the Student Support Officers in providing support interventions to student’s. Distribute textbooks and student packs to students and maintain the necessary records. Manage and monitor student attendance, and organize job placement and excursions for students.
