The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is therefore seeking to appoint an efficient and enthusiastic person to undertake the role of:

Job Summary:
To implement and manage an integrated Facilities Management solution for SAWS
Key Performance Areas:
• Implement and manage the integrated Facilities Management (FM) services and strategy for SAWS
• Implement an effective HSE, Quality, Physical Security & Risk Management system in conjunction with the Contractors, and in accordance to SAWS needs
• Identify gaps and deficiencies in services, advise and effect solutions as part of Continuous Improvement on FM services rendered
• Manage back to back SLA agreements with suppliers and contractors
• Provide monthly reports and feedback on continued compliance to the SLA
• Assist in the management of FM projects and provide technical support, where applicable
• Explore and recommend innovative methods, based on best practices, in order to bring about cost-effective solutions
• Ensure proper building and asset maintenance as well as electrical reticulation
• Effective management and control of risk in terms of building, machinery, access control (electronic/physical) and equipment systems
• Manage the infrastructure as well as facilities of the company and also provide construction project management
• Planning for and overseeing major renovations of SAWS facilities
• Conduct daily audits on FM services rendered and ensure that prescribed work quality and standards are sustained
• Demonstrate and instil effective adherence to processes on infrastructure maintenance
• Ensure timeous processing of invoices and adherence to SAWS financial management policies
• Monitor service providers' (contractors) performance and effect corrective action on any deviations to the SLAs
Minimum Requirements, Attributes and Competencies:
• B-Tech or Degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical or Civil
• Property Management, Business Management, Physical Security Management, PSIRA Grade A or B registration, Construction Science or Architecture knowledge will be an added advantage
• 5 years relevant engineering experience in maintenance engineering, CRM & Property Management & Financial Management
• Innovative and resource driven leader with a proven record of overall corporate leadership
• Knowledge of SA Government priorities & regulatory frameworks
• Knowledge of OHS Act, ISO 9001 Quality Management, Critical Infrastructure Protection Act, Control of Access to Public premises and Vehicles Act. Firearms Control Act, National Strategic Intelligence Act, PSIRA, MPSS, MISS, Risk Management Systems, Property Law & Contractual Law
• Business Continuity Management experience
• Good communication and report writing skills
• Facilitation and presentation skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and deadline driven
• Conduct daily audits on FM services rendered and ensure that prescribed work quality and standards are sustained
