Job Advert Summary
The purpose of the role is to conduct complex level of monitoring compliance to the Sasria agent outsourcing agreement, policies, procedure and applicable regulations or laws. Establish proactive analytical and systematic processes to review data, information, and operating systems, while assisting the organisation to mitigate its risks and achieve its objectives.
 
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
• B. Com (auditing/finance) or equivalent three qualification in auditing, insurance, risk management or commercial studies. OR relevant 3 year undergraduate equivalent qualification in insurance/auditing/accountancy/business management.
•Highly advantageous:
o Post graduate qualification in insurance or commercial studies.
o Certification in Insurance, QA, CIA, or any other related qualification.
 
Experience
• 5 years of full-time experience in quality assurance, auditing, accounting, or risk management (all or a combination).
• Experience obtained in consultation, facilitation, or presentation.
• Non-life Insurance industry experience.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
Not limited to:
Strategic Alignment
• Provides input during the development of the quality assurance department’s strategic plan.
• Provides input during the development of the department’s budgets.
• Assist in the development of the annual plan and key performance indicators.
• Is required to identify business risks that are related to their work.
• Develops annual project plans and for tasks/areas that have been allocated to them.
• Manage and ensure regular and monthly reports of projects under own supervision.
• Develop, update, and submit for approval, QA procedures, or process flows, and templates for tasks/areas that have been allocated to them.
 
Technical: Quality Assurance Reviews, Projects
a) Validate, test the accuracy and completeness of the Underwriting Process by reviewing (but not limited to):
• Validate the application and insurance quotation process.
• Test the accuracy and completeness of the application vs the cover that has been underwriting.
• Recalculate the premium for accuracy.
• Review the covers for insurability and compliance with the Sasria underwriting regulations.
• Review the final policy schedule and/or coupon for accuracy and completeness.
• All relevant endorsements and annexures forming part of the insurance contract are attached, distributed or communicated to policyholders. 
b) Review the Policy and Coupon Administration 
Process for adequacy and effectiveness by;
• Checking if Sasria coupons and policies are issued correctly and completed in full.
• Check that Sasria coupons and policies are issued in time.
• Ensure that Sasria coupons are not backdated without prior authorisation from Sasria.
• Ensure that the process of refunds and cancellations is adequate and effective.
• Endorsements are processed accurately and documented in accordance with the Sasria regulations.
• Ensure that the correct and valid coupon stationery is used when issuing Sasria covers.
c) Review Compliance with the relevant laws and regulations by testing and correcting the following requirements:
• Disclosure of sections that are covered by the Sasria policy.
• Cost of cover.
• Inclusion of the correct and complete disclosure information. 
 
Operational: Administration of QA projects (Sasria Agent Companies)
• Using the QA annual plan, identify and contact the agent company to be reviewed at least 6 weeks in advance. 
• Identify and contact the relevant process owners to prepare and arrange the project planning and start-off session. 
• Set up and conduct interviews with all process owners and relevant support staff members or functions to scope and develop the project plan or start of the fieldwork.
• Coordinate and confirm the traveling and administrative logistics for the fieldwork.
• Execute the quality assurance monitoring or consultative project.
• Provide regular project update (project millstones) and communicate the result of the project.
• Setup the follow-up project schedule, execute retesting, resolve process gabs/risks, and report the outcomes of the follow-up project.
 
Customer Relations: Internal departments or Adhoc QA projects 
• Determine the deliverables of the project.
• Scope and obtain approval of the project.
• Develop a project plan with clear and documented project objective, approach, scope, resources and timelines.
• Communicate the result of the project.
• Follow-up or assist management to implement the agreed solution.

  • Senior Tax and Reporting Accountant will supports financial decision-making information by collecting, analyzing, investigating, and reporting financial data.
  • Preparation of the annual financial statements accordance to IFRS.
  • Preparation/Review of VAT reconciliations and completion and submission of VAT returns.
  • Assist with finance audits.
 
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) SA
Advantageous:
  • HDip Tax or equivalent Tax qualification
Minimum Experience:
  • Up to 3 years post articles experience

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Reporting
  • Preparation of the annual financial statements accordance to IFRS.
  • Assistance with the preparation of the integrated report.
  • Completion of statutory and stakeholder reports and returns.
  • Preparing internal reports
2. Taxation
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax legislation.
  • Maintain and update tax computation systems for tax compliance according to latest prevailing tax legislation.
  • Computation of accurate income and deferred tax to process relevant journals.
  • Completion and submission of the income and provisional tax returns.
  • Preparation/Review of VAT reconciliations and completion and submission of VAT returns.
  • Preparation of tax disclosures in the AFS.
  • Keep abreast of all tax regulations.
  • Prepare internal opinion papers in various tax related matters.
  • Ensure that all queries raised by SARS are dealt with timeously.
3. Finance and audits
  • Development and implementation of systems, policy, procedures, Processes and internal controls.
  • Implementation of IFRS standards and provide IFRS advice to the organization.
  • Participate as needed in company-wide initiatives by contributing expertise and knowledge within own area of responsibly.
  • Going concern assessment and dividend calculations.
  • Assist with finance audits.
  • Review/preparation of journals and general ledger accounts reconciliations.
  • Review and analyse monthly the general ledger accounts (for any misallocations and prepare correction journals).
  • Assist with budget and forecast preparation.
  • Providing support to day-to-day finance activities
  • Adhoc requests
