Job Advert Summary
The Strategy Manager plays a vital role in driving the organisation's strategic foresight, governance research and contribute to the problem solving and systems thinking to complex problems across the organisation.
The Strategy Manager plans and oversees strategic plans and risks in the business and collaborates with the executive managers, and multiple teams throughout the organisation to research, develop, plan, and execute strategic initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Any relevant Master’s degree.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum 8 years research experience in fields such as; Financial service - Insurance, digitalization, politics, public policy, governance, will be beneficial.
- Proven facilitation experience in foresight competencies (framing, scanning, futuring, visioning, designing, adapting).
- Strong experience and networks within politics, relevant national departments, non-life insurance, will be considered favourably.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Strategic Management
- Participate in the development of the divisional strategy.
- Assist the EM: Strategy and Underwriting with the development of Company’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the board and shareholder.
- Contribute to the research of effective strategic direction for new business and existing business growth.
2. Research and Innovation
- Conduct quality research and produce written outputs independently (as agreed with the EM: Strategy and Underwriting) and develop appropriate strategies.
- Provide professional and strategic research input to research conceptualisation, input into the longer-term sustainability of research themes and topics to improve research impact of Sasria.
- Utilise a range of foresight methodologies, futures thinking frameworks, and systems thinking methods to explore complex problems and generate innovative solution and contribute to thought leadership.
- Apply creative and innovative approaches in conducting research over multiple future time horizons utilising futures studies, strategic foresight, and systemic change approaches and methods.
- Conduct environmental and horizon scanning on research topics highlighting emerging drivers of change, trends, weak signals, and potential disruptors and opportunities that may shape Sasria’s future.
- Develop innovative interventions based on research findings to address complex policy challenges.
3. Operational
- Identify weaknesses or opportunities in ongoing strategies and analyse internal processes and market trends.
- Collect and analyse information and data related to procedural efficiency within the organization.
- Develop new solutions, practices and strategies to support long-term business growth.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with key stakeholders, policymakers, experts, and thought leaders to gather diverse perspectives and integrate them into policy proposals.
- Facilitate relevant workshops and foresight and system thinking exercises.
- Strategically engage with key stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure effective communication and cooperation and flow of information.
5. Financial
- Contribute to Developing & Managing Budget & Forecasts.
- Ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory accounting procedures.
- Interpreting Financial Statements.
6. Risk Management
- Contribute to the development of the risk strategy which will include risk appetite and acceptable risk levels and identification of risk within the underwriting division.
- Manage departmental risk.

- The purpose of the position is to render effective and professional administrative services to the Sasria and its stakeholders.
- Answer calls on switchboard efficiently and promptly while maintaining a professional demeanour.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent), Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Minimum Experience:
- At least 3 or 5 years as a receptionist/switchboard operator, or 5 years in facilities or Office Administration/Co-ordinator/Assistant environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Switchboard Management/ Reception
- Attitudinal disposition when answering the calls per Sasria approved standard:
- Answer calls on switchboard efficiently and promptly while maintaining a professional demeanour.
- Level of compliance with appropriate standards2 for collecting and communicating (forwarding) messages.
- Re-route calls to various departments/staff.
- Handle all queries efficiently and in the most appropriate and professional manner possible.
- Keeping record of non-Sasria related calls.
- Arrange relief person when other receptionist is out of the office (for lunch breaks, when attending meetings).
- Welcome visitors.
2. General Office Administration
- Ensure re-routing of hand delivered mail, parcels and mail collected from the post office to various departments and Managers.
- Control of the Post Register.
- Request for Quotations in respect of stationery, groceries as per procurement policy.
- Capture PR on system in respect of stationery and groceries as per the procurement policy.
- Update internal extension telephone list and forward to relevant staff and copy to security at reception.
- Health and Safety representative (various duties, booking training, scheduling meetings, etc).
3. Ad hoc Duties
- Perform any reasonable task as and when required by the Facilities Team Leader.
