SARS is looking for a highly skilled, motivated, results driven, self-directed and detail-oriented leader with a passion for risk management. We are looking for a Revenue Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide intelligence by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within the Revenue Management and Compliance Division in the organization. The successful candidate will collaborate with and engage various stakeholders across SARS on a regular basis and must therefore be able to develop and cultivate strong and sustainable relationships, whilst demonstrating high levels of service orientation.
 You will have the opportunity to apply your analytical skills, work with AI and data extraction technologies, contribute to the accuracy and compliance of our financial processes while working with high volumes of taxpayer data. In this position, you will develop and maintain comprehensive risk management frameworks, interact with cross-functional teams, and manage and provide guidance to junior staff. Job Purpose
This role requires managing the process of and identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks through the gathering of data, conducting data analysis, developing deliverables (written, spread sheet, presentation) and meeting time sensitive goals through utilisation of AI and other data extracting technologies within the Revenue Management and Compliance Division. The position includes adding intelligence through innovation and change management processes to enable automation of work streams.
 
Minimum Qualification & Experience Required
 
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Auditing, Data Science, Accounting, Finance and AI; AND 5-7 years' relevant and demonstrated experience in an Auditing, Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance or Commerce environment, of which 2-3 years ideally at knowledge worker level.
  • Demonstrated, sound knowledge and interpretation of the PFMA;
  • At least 3-5 years experience on the application of data extraction technologies and AI on complex data sets across a number of dimensions, including high numerical and analytical skills;
  • At least 3-5 years Proficient or Advanced working experience on Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point;
  • Articles in Auditing;
  • Good Report Writing & Presentation skills; and
  • Good knowledge & experience in problem solving, interpersonal and communication.

  • To conduct Trend Analysis and verification audits – execute analysis of baseline data versus current data and make recommendations.

About the Position
An Exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled, results driven, self-directed Senior Manager with extensive knowledge and experience in the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) field. 
This role is an anchor for divisional objectives and is key to delivering critical SHE related solutions and programmes as determined by various legislation and other regulatory requirements.
The incumbent we are looking to attract and appoint will be largely responsible for:
  • Developing and overseeing the implementation of Health and Safety systems and processes in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act no. 85 of 1993), regulations and SARS internal Policies and Guidelines.  This is to ensure that all SARS offices and buildings are maintained to the highest levels of health and safety standards in order to maintain healthy and safe workplaces.
  • Developing and overseeing the implementation of the Environmental Management systems  in accordance with the National Environmental Management Act no. 107 of 1998 and regulations to ensure that operations are environmentally sound and compliant to legislation.
  • Development and maintenance of programmes to ensure safety in the workplace and safeguard the well-being of employees.
  • Development, implementation, reviewing, monitoring and evaluating the Safety, Health and Environment Management systems.
  • Development of awareness and capacity building programmes for the safety, health and environmental management systems.
  • Development of a training plan to embed health and safety, and environmental management principles.

Job Purpose
To develop and oversee the implementation of the safety, health and environment management systems to ensure a healthy and safe workplace and environmental compliance. To implement the Occupational Health and Safety Act, National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) and Compensation of injuries and diseases Act. (COIDA) including international standards across all SARS occupied facilities nationally so as to safeguard the health and wellbeing of employees and all persons conducting business with SARS.
 
Education and Experience
 
Minimum Qualification & Experience Required
Relevant Honours Degree / Postgraduate Diploma (NQF 8) in Safety, Health and Environment / Environmental management / science / health/ Biological/ natural sciences and 10 – 12 years' related experience in a Safety, Health and Environment, of which 3 - 4 years at a middle management level.
ALTERNATIVE 
Relevant Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Safety, Health and Environment / Environmental management / science /health/ Biological / natural sciences AND 12 - 15 years related experience in a in a Safety, Health & Environment, of which 3 - 4 years at a middle management level.
 
Minimum Functional Requirements
  • The incumbent we are looking for should have extensive knowledge, skills and experience in Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of energy and utilities management and institutional policies related to energy usage and conservation.
  • Basic knowledge of heating and cooling control systems and software.
  • Basic understanding of state and local recycling laws/ordinances and related compliance issues.
  • Awareness of environmental impact as it relates to chemicals used and fumes produced from custodial or maintenance activities. 
  • Awareness of environmental impact as it relates to trash generation with food service (including dry and wet waste), programs, and retail services.
