About the Position
SARS is looking for a skilled customs official with unquestionable integrity to ensure the Schedule to the Customs and Excise Act, 91 of 1964 (the Act) published on the SARS website is accurate. The ideal candidate will ensure that the tariff subheadings and descriptions used in the publication are in line with the Harmonized System Nomenclature and South African Tariff structure. The Drafter: Legislation will ensure that draft notices are accurately drafted to amend the schedules to the Customs and Excise Act.
The role demands strong technical knowledge of Customs and Excise with excellent communication skills. The candidate must be able to do inter alia legal research, analyse data and draft submission on reports. The candidate must be able to work well within a team or individually.
Job Purpose

Education and Experience
Minimum Qualification & Experience Required
Higher Certificate in Law, Paralegal studies, Legal studies, International trade or Economics (NQF 5) AND 3 years’ experience in Customs or excise, Tariff, or Legislative drafting or implementation of trade agreements.
OR
Alternative Qualifications and Minimum Experience
Senior Certificate (NQF 4) AND 4 years’ experience in customs or excise, Tariff or Legislative drafting or implementation of trade agreements
Minimum Functional Requirements
Able to formulate and draft notices in English and Afrikaans for publication in the Government Gazette to amend customs tariffs.

About the Position
The Coordinator: Performance Reporting role provides critical coordinative support to the Office of the Head: NOC, ensuring the effective consolidation, alignment and tracking of reports across the environment. The role is responsible for coordinating reporting processes, supporting the preparation of management information, and enabling administrative efficiency within the Head’s Office.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, the incumbent will facilitate the timely submission of data, ensure consistency and quality of reporting outputs, and support governance requirements through structured coordination of reporting cycles and related activities. The role plays a key part in enhancing reporting visibility, strengthening oversight, and enabling informed decision-making.
Job Purpose
To provide reporting and information on the progress of performance against plans, using application programming and relevant tools and to recommend alignment between Data Quality and organisational processes, systems and people.

About the Position
Tax audits are conducted to determine whether a taxpayer has correctly declared his/her tax liability in compliance with the provisions of the tax and related secondary legislation. A tax audit includes an examination of accounting records, systems, substantive documents, explanations, or any other relevant information. The audit process consists of planning, execution, and finalisation. The following taxes are audited – Personal Income Tax, Company Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Trust, Pay as you Earn.
SARS is looking for four energetic, results oriented, self-driven Auditors to add value and improve the SARS operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of the Compliance Audit division. The successful candidates will need to take responsibility for the planning of their time and work, executing the work in the Compliance Audit space to meet the set targets and goals across all tax types.
Job Purpose
To conduct standard audits or verification on a risk profile basis to ensure compliance on all tax types.
Education and Experience
