Senior Certificate/Matric (NQF4) with 1 years’ experience in Human Resources / Record Management environment.

About the Position

The South African Revenue Services (SARS) is in search of an accomplished and visionary leader to assume the role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). This senior executive position is critical to the organization’s success and requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of revenue management and tax administration. Revenue management in this context includes the ability to economically and operationally forecast and plan revenue collections, analyse revenue collections to identify patterns that drive or hinder performance as well as device evidence-based strategies to drive revenue augmentation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in these areas, demonstrating a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in maximizing tax collection through big data modelling and analysis, interfacing with regional revenue offices and responsible directors as well as engaging with external stakeholders in the fiscal ecosystem. Job Purpose 

To formulate and position Revenue Management’s value chain, operating model and frameworks in a broadly defined organisational strategy, by monitoring of international economic and trade trends, evaluate the likely impact on revenue collections, assess revenue risk and devise mitigating measures in line with all statutory requirements, on behalf of National Treasury, in order to position and enable horizontal alignment, implementation and adoption.

Job Purpose

To provide a HR client service in respect of Human Resources and Payroll transactions on the HR Management System (SAP). Act as custodian of HR policies, providing guidance, support and development of HR Conditions of Service and administration related policies in line with legislation, involving the accurate and timeous administration of remuneration and benefits throughout the SARS employee's life cycle.

 

Education and Experience

 

Minimum Qualification & Experience Required 

Higher Certificate (NQF 5) in Human Resources and 3 years’ experience in Human Resources Administration & Human Resources Payroll.

OR

Senior Certificate/Matric (NQF4) with 4 years’ experience in Human Resources Administration & Human Resources Payroll.

Process 

  • Analyse system reports to identify and rectify discrepancies and constantly quality assures transactions and documents. Conduct audits and make corrections and implement preventative measures.

  • Calculate all in and out of service debt and implementation of measures to recover such debt to prevent bad debt to SARS (LWP, bursary, 24 hr terminations, ESS, deleted transactions, etc. Analyses debt and leave pay-outs.
  • Capturing and maintaining of transactions on SAP system (Financial responsibility amounting to R328 million per annum) - Thus maintaining the SARS Payroll.
