PROJECT MANAGER: AUDIT FINDINGS (L4) (12 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT) 
(Position based in NPC, Pretoria)
Reports to: Chief Risk Officer
 
Summation
Responsible for the management and execution of the resolution of all Audit findings listed in the Postbank External Audit Management Letter, to ensure that all findings are successfully addressed within agreed upon timeframes by the responsible Executives. This role serves as the organization’s Audit Professional and will be a standing invitee to executive management meetings to report on progress made with the resolution of findings and escalation. Providing consulting services to the CEO and the organisation’s management and staff on pertinent matters; develop a coordinated assurance framework that includes the Annual Internal Audit plan. Works independently with initiative and independent judgement.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop a comprehensive project plan, in collaboration with accountable Executives, Senior Management and staff inclusive of all Audit Findings with clear accountability to identify the root cause of findings, resolutions to successfully address the findings with time lines to resolve, quality checks and budget required, where necessary.
• Pro-actively identify and escalate audit risks, issues and any unresolved findings that may impact the organisation to the EXCO and accountable Executives
• Report regularly on progress made towards resolving the audit findings in line with the project plan to EXCO and functional heads and escalation of red flags including preparation of relevant reporting for the quarterly Audit committee meetings.
• Build key and meaningful client relationships as well as ensuring the effective delivery of appropriate communications to all stakeholders
• Ensure delivery of the project is aligned to Postbank accepted project management methodologies
• Maintain interactions with External & Internal Auditors for the purpose of coordinating audit activities to ensure that proposed resolutions will adequately resolve the audit findings
• Ensure the efficient management and control of functions/resources in accordance with the stipulations of the PFMA, fraud prevention and risk management principles, corporate governance, legislation, company policies, processes, regulations, Delegation of Authority, etc.
 
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) from an accredited college or university. Certification as a CIA or CPA.
• At least 10 years of full-time audit experience preferably in a senior management capacity
Knowledge and understanding of:
• Understanding of banking practices and associated risk management thereof would be preferred
• Considerable knowledge of the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
• Knowledge of industry program policies, procedures, regulations, laws, Corporate Governance, PFMA, Banks Act etc. Knowledge of management information systems terminology, concepts and practices.
• Practical experience in project management
