The SANC currently has the following vacancy, and candidates that meet the requirements as provided are invited to apply:
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Evaluate curricula from Nursing Education Institutions (NEIs) within prescribed time frames
- Provide feedback to the NEIs for evaluated programmes within prescribed time frames
- Conduct audit visits to NEIs and clinical facilities as scheduled
- Consolidate report(s) for submission to Education Committee (EDCO)
- Implement Committee and Council resolutions
- Identify and report any risks in performing duties.
MINIMUM AND ADDED ADVANTAGE REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12
- Masters’ degree in nursing
- Registered with the SANC as a general nurse and midwife
- Additional qualification in Nursing Education
- Registered as an Assessor and Moderator
- Minimum of 5 years’ work experience as registered nurse or midwife
- Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience as a Nurse Educator in a Nursing College or University
- Experience in curriculum development and/or evaluation
- Valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel extensively
ADDED ADVANTAGE REQUIREMENTS
- Clinical specialisation in any relevant field of the qualification.

INTRODUCTION

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS
- Facilitate the setting of the SANC Research strategy, including the vision, mission and objectives.
- Lead and coordinate the process of developing the SANC’s Research Strategy and Agenda in collaboration with the Research Committee.
- Develop SANC research policy frameworks and ethics guidelines in line with NHREC.
- Formulate nursing policies based on evidence and establish SANC research unit and coordinate research activities.
- Collaborate and engage with the Research Committee, SMT, NHREC, government agencies, and NGOs to shape policy development and review.
- Develop and tailor appropriate research methodologies, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods.
- Compile detailed research reports with findings and recommendations and distribute them through market research publications to maximize reach and influence.
- Plan and execute operational research related to the work of the SANC, including identifying research problems/topics and conducting literature reviews.
- Identify and collaborate with all relevant stakeholders involved in the research project, including funding bodies.
- Develop systems (includes standardized tools), Senior Management reports and processes.
- Support the Research Committee to monitor research processes and sign-off milestones thereof and share research findings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate training workshops on research methods and offer orientation sessions for n researchers and establish formal and informal mentorship programs.
- Lead the development of grant proposals, including defining project objectives, methodologies, and budgets
- Manage risks and projects within the area of responsibility.
- Direct, plan and oversee the development and implementation of policies, standard Operating Procedures, business processes, internal controls, systems, objectives and activities related to the Research management function.
- Assist internal and external auditors with supporting documentation and samples where necessary.
- Provide support/reports to the Council/Board and its Committees (Research Committee etc.).
- Manage resources (i.e., Human, Physical, Financial and Information).
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as delegated by Line Manager or Supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND ADDED ADVANTAGE
- Grade 12.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing Research / Health / Social Sciences / Operations Research / Nursing or an equivalent qualification.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 10 years’ relevant experience in a health environment / Nursing Education Institution (University /University of Technology/Nursing College)/ Research environment.
- 3 years’ working experience at a management level or in leading research teams.
- 5 years’ experience in managing research projects and budget
- A research track record that demonstrates experience and productivity in the field (publication in peer reviewed journals as lead or co-author).
- Experience in grantsmanship/securing external research funding.

- PhD in Nursing Research / Health / Social Sciences / Operations Research / Nursing or an equivalent qualification.

- At least 5 years in senior or executive management roles in Human Resource Management (HR Value Chain) in a corporate organisation, public sector, or state-owned entities/ organ of state.
- Active Professional Membership with the South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) or equivalent recognised Professional Association.

- Master’s degree in human resources development.
