POSITION: EXTERNAL INDEPENDENT MEMBER FOR FINANCE COMMITTEE (FINCO)

REMUNERATION: AS PER PRESCRIPTS AND GUIDELINES OF NATIONAL TREASURY 
TERM OF OFFICE: THREE YEARS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 
 Minimum of BCom Honours/BCompt Honours/CTA or equivalent qualification 
 A minimum of 10 year’s working experience post qualification experience 
 5 year’s working experience at a Senior Management level within Finance environment 
 Completed articles 
 A member in good standing of South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) 
 Valid driver’s licence 
 
ADDED ADVANTAGE REQUIREMENTS: 
 Experience of serving in similar committees 
 Chartered Accountant (CA) 
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: 
 Knowledge of King IV and other corporate governance legislation 
 International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 
 Knowledge of the Nursing Act 33 of 2005 (added advantage)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: 
 Perform an oversight role on all Finance inclusive of supply chain management related matters 
 Advise SANC Management, Finance Committee (including other Committees) and the Council on Finance Governance, Strategy implementation, Performance and best practice 
 Oversee the development, review and approval of the Finance Strategy 
 Oversee the development of the Finance Business Performance Model (BPM) Comprising of Key Performance Areas (KPA), Drives, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) 
 Oversee the Finance Risk Register that is aligned to the SANC Strategic Risk Register 
 Ensuring timely generation and analysis of relevant financial information and reports for submission to the Council 
 Provide a view on the effectiveness of the Chief Financial Officer and the Finance Function in the SANC

Candidate may be subjected to the practical test and competency based assessment determined by SANC.
