Description
Job Profile:
The incumbent will be responsible to perform instruments calibration and maintenance activities (including installation and commissioning of newly acquired instruments) in the laboratory through effective planning for the laboratory to deliver a reliable and cost effective service to ensure that these are in good working condition and are available 90% of the time. The job to be performed in compliance with relevant policies, procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
 
Key Performance Areas:
1. Adhere to calibration/ maintenance plans that has to assist in transforming NLS into a profitable and sustainable business entity.
  • Develop and coordinate Schedule Maintenance and Calibration actions for each year
  • Ensure that plans are adhered to by completing tasks on time and hand over facilities to labs on time.
  • Respond to logged calls by supported labs within 48 hours.
  • Execute proactive procurement to ensure that all required spares are available on time.
2. Product and Service Development Contribute 
  • Participate in research and development as well as implementation of the new laboratories, instrumentation, equipment, machinery, monitors and utilities when required.
  • Perform activities stipulated in the project schedule for the implementation of new products and services.
3. Comply with protocols of the laboratory regarding internal and external communications to maintain established service level agreements
  • Update the Section head or team leader weekly in terms of status of work performed (maintenance or calibrations as per plan) including status of equipment or instruments downtime.
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of a proper lab asset management system that adheres to the international best practice such as ISO 55001.
  • Establish good relationships with suppliers to obtain quotes on time, follow up quotes and orders regularly and adhere to SCM procedures.
4. Adhere to internal laboratory requirements to improve level of efficiency in business operations in order to produce highest number of quality products and services following responsible business practices.
  • Perform and document maintenance/ calibrations actions in compliance to all applicable instructions and procedures by adhering to the requirements of the quality system and OEM in the laboratory such as QM, Procedures and SANAS requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety aspects.  Ensure that safety and housekeeping are maintained to the required standard as required and fulfil the role of BBS observer and perform observations as contracted.
  • Assist section head with the review or updating information for development and implementation of calibration methods and spreadsheets on the new digital/analog monitors when requested.
  • Adhere to actions identified to close out NCR’s.
  • Develop and manage an equipment / asset register to demonstrate the age of all equipment and their replacement plan especially for the labs responsible.
5. Assist the laboratory to maintain a robust and efficient by acquiring more knowledge through continuous development.
  • Adhere to the individual training matrix/plans to ensure that new knowledge is acquired.
  • Attend identified courses to increase knowledge required in the laboratory.

Description
Job Profile:

Key Performance Areas:
Administrative duties
  • Compile routine quotations for samples/instruments as requested by CTS line management/supervisor and ensure that all quotes are correct and reported clearly before issuing. Issue quotations to customers for the indicated categories of customer requests.

Description
Job purpose:
 Reporting to the Manager: Lu-177 Intermediate Production, and working with the Production team, the incumbent will be responsible for accurate manufacturing of all reagents and preparation for other productions according to Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) guidelines and safety requirements by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) efficiently and safely.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
GENERAL AND TASK MANAGEMENT
  • To perform all manufacturing of reagents and preparation for other productions.
  • Ensure that cGMP and GDocP (Good document practice) requirements are met, regarding procedures and sterility for radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Ensure quality products are manufactured (properly documented through calculations and signatures), within spec, safe, and reliably according to SOP’s.
  • Knowledge of instruments used in the production laboratories.

TECHNICAL ASPECTS
  • Ensure all reagent batch records are ordered, completed, and transferred between the relevant buildings to ensure proper document control, GDocP and quality requirements and in accordance with SOP.
  • Complete all logs contemptuously in accordance with SOP.
  • Ensure all reagents are sufficient and released according to SOP in time for final production of Lu-177 n.c.a products.
  • Ensure microbiological monitoring is logged and completed in accordance with SOP and environmental and instrument parameters are recorded and logged according to SOP.
  • Ensure microbiological monitoring consumables are submitted for analysis.
  • Report any deviations or changes to the production manager.
  • Prepare and submit all filled Yb-176 ampoules in accordance with procedure.
  • Store consumables in dedicated areas as per SOP.
  • Ensure accurate calculations of all laboratory reagents and consumables needed for final product manufacturing in accordance with cGMP requirements.
  • Ensure accurate capturing and record keeping of production related data in accordance with cGMP requirements.
  • Ensure accurate labelling, packaging, and dispatch of all intermediate and final products in a cGMP compliant manner.

  • Preferably, a minimum of 12 months in relevant working experience in a Production environment.

  • Compile the monthly repairs and maintenance schedule for all repair and maintenance and small capital accounts by the 15th calendar day of the month. Schedules should be signed off and submitted for review to the senior Financial Manager.
  • Conduct initial enquiries into transactions that may meet the policy requirement for capitalization and document results on the schedule.
  • Assist in Senior Financial Advisor in any further enquiries to establish the correct accounting treatment of repair and maintenance or small capital items.
Annual Assessment Of The Remaining Useful Life And Residual Values Of Fixed Assets
  • Assist the relevant reporting manager with enquiries to responsible people.
  • Doing research with regards to the residual values of vehicles under the supervision of the relevant reporting manager.
Quarterly Capitalisation Of Assets
  • Obtaining all information required for capitalization (responsible person, location, room and serial number) within the timeframe required by Necsa for non-componentized assets.
  • Assist the relevant reporting manager with enquiries about assets to be componentized where required.
  • Ensure that all new assets are appropriately marked with an asset number.
Capturing Of Stock Issues
  • Collect store/stock issues from relevant SCM staff.
  • Capture all stock issues into the financial system in inventory module.
  • Assist will all queries on stock issues captured Assist in preparing stock count lists as and when required.

Description
 
Job Purpose
Plan, schedule, capture completed job cards and oversee implementation of scheduled activities at Vaalputs. Liaise with VPSIF members and other stakeholders (Municipalities, NGO’s, Associations, schools, pressure groups, Gamoep / Kliprand Farmers, etc.) in conjunction with NFM as required.
 
Key Performance Areas:
  • Liaise with all managerial / supervisory staff to implement and maintain a master schedule of Vaalputs activities.
  • Advise the Manager: Vaalputs where schedules / scheduled activities fall behind.
  • Make appropriate adjustments where target dates for scheduled activities cannot be met.
  • Ensure security inspection schedule is implemented.
  • Plan ad-hoc facility maintenance and shutdown activities.
  • Maintain an overhead schedule for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual tasks.
  • Maintain an overhead schedule for addressing non-conformances and related action plans.
  • Liaise with facility supervisors to set target dates for scheduled activities.
  • Assist facility management and supervisors with planning and scheduling of activities.
  • Plan preventive maintenance using the MP2 preventive maintenance scheduling system.
  • Issue job cards for scheduled and un-scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure that planned maintenance activities are performed in accordance with job cards and report deviations to the Manager: Vaalputs.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance of auxiliaries (portable radios, vehicle fleet, fuel supplies, etc.)
  • Plan and schedule maintenance of fleet vehicles and servicing of all mobile equipment and report deviations.
  • Plan and schedule activities by means of planning meetings and progress reporting.
  • Chairman of the weekly planning meeting.
  • Oversee implementation of action plans addressing audit findings, observations and management walkthrough observations.
  • Oversee implementation of all schedules.
  • Oversee implementation of routine inspection schedules (firefighting equipment, hand tools, emergency alarm system, security control system, safety inspections, etc.)
  • Oversee schedule for routine radiological and environmental monitoring programs.
  • Oversee reporting and close out of safety inspections findings.
  • Alert the Manager: Vaalputs where scheduled target dates will not be met.
  • Compile monthly report on status of scheduled activities.
  • Maintain a schedule of routine reports (monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.) and ensure they are written and submitted in time.
  • Oversee implementation of routine inspection schedules (firefighting equipment, hand tools, emergency alarm system, security control system, safety inspections, etc.)
  • Oversee schedule for routine radiological and environmental monitoring programs.
  • Oversee reporting and close out of safety inspections findings.
  • Alert the Manager: Vaalputs where scheduled target dates will not be met.
  • Compile monthly report on status of scheduled activities.
  • Maintain a schedule of routine reports (monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.) and ensure they are written and submitted in time.
  • Plan and schedule training for Vaalputs staff:
  • Implement and maintain a training register.
  • Ensure that statutory and SHEQ appointments are up to date.
  • Implement and maintain a register of appointments.
  • Schedule skill development as per career path development matrix.
  • Plan/schedule safety talks
  • Raise early warnings where scheduled activities will not be met or have not been done.
  • Oversee adherence to all schedules.
  • Input with regard to budget.
  • Emergency team member.
  • Schedule and participate in SHEQ, Nuclear License and other statutory audits.
  • Plan logistics behind Vaalputs visits to Pelindaba (annual medicals, etc.)
  • Plan logistics and occupation of domestic facilities at Garing.
  • Perform BBS observations.
  • Do job observations and identify and address any gaps / improvements.

Requirements
 Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
  • BA in Health and Social Sciences (NQF level 7) OR Post Graduate Diploma: Public relations / Public Administration (NQF level 7) or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in planning.
  • Valid EB driver’s license.
