Position Overview:
The incumbent reporting to the Head: Sales and Marketing will be responsible for introducing promoting and actively selling the company’s products to the public and private sectors within AEC-Amersham’s respective markets.

- Achieve set annual sales targets and increase revenue and market share.
- Travel to defined geographies to sell life science products.
- Achieve required number of customer visits.
- Build and manage relationships between AEC-Amersham and customers and/or relevant suppliers.
- Provide training, technical support and after sales service to customers on an ongoing basis.
- Meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Provide competitive information such as product specifications, pricing data, or bundling arrangements in order to establish negotiated pricing contracts for assigned products.
- Perform product demonstrations, installations, and application support.
- Improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Prepare quotations and ensure follow-up.
- Complete tenders accurately.
- Monitor sales/backorders of products.
Identify New Markets and Understanding of Products
- Introduce, promote and actively sell the company’s products in the specialised Healthcare sector.
- Introduce and manage marketing strategies.
- Identify the need for new products and ventures into new markets.
- Monitor sales of products.
- Provide technical support for products.
- Provide and co-ordinate product training when necessary.
Customer relations
- Create, develop and maintain good business relationships
- Build and manage relationships between AEC-Amersham personnel, customers and relevant suppliers
- Conduct research in order to identify competitors, their product strategies, future requirements of the market, market trends and identify areas of potential sales successes
Promotions and Exhibitions
- Identify and manage exhibitions and congresses with Management and Support staff; and
- Identify any other advertising and promotional requirements for AEC-Amersham.
Supplier relations
- Keep supplier contact details up to date
- Ensure that applicable queries are escalated to suppliers when necessary.
General
- Submit daily and weekly reports to Sales Manager.
- Do sales forecast in consultation with Sales Manager.
- Conduct pre-delivery checks on instrumentation, where applicable, prior to delivering to customers
- Provide support for any queries relating to products to both customers and Sales Team
- Compile Marketing Plans when new products are launched.
- Co-ordinate projects
- Manage conflict/ complaints in an effective and professional manner
- Travel both locally and internationally for sales or training related purposes.
- Ensure that market intelligence is communicated to the relevant stakeholders in order to assist with decision making.
- Assist and support QSA team.
Job Requirements
Knowledge and skills:
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the completion of administrative tasks according to procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles of business.
- Sound knowledge of the business environment, the relevant role players within the business and their key responsibilities and outcomes.
- Knowledge of the organizational behavioural requirements that governs business conduct.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the products and services provided by the organisation and the application of each product and service.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Code of Marketing Practice, the regulatory requirements, and the implication of non-compliance to the Code.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the competitor products and services and the possible impact on the company.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the charging process, average period of payment and the impact on the commercial viability.
- Knowledge of the organisational behavioural requirements that governs business conduct
- Problem solving.
- Being a team player.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Diploma/Degree in the respective sector, preferably in the Life Science/ Laboratory Field, Biomedical Technology/BSC / experience in the relevant field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the sales environment
- Computer literacy.
