Requirements
- Degree in Information Science/ Archives and Records Management or relevant qualification
- Higher certificate in Archives and Records Management
- 2-3 years’ work experience in information and records management
- Knowledge of National Archive and Records Services of South Africa act 43 of 1996 as amended
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge and experience of collection development and management
- Manual and electronic filing systems

Responsibilities
- Manage the Corporate library and Archives of South African National Parks (SANParks).
- Ensure that records are archived in line with registry procedures.
- Provide input to draft information and records management policies / strategies.
- Filing of records on the EDRMS.
- Assist the Senior Manager in the digitization of records.
- Coordinate the transfer of files to the approved system.
- Ensure that correspondence received internally and externally is administered correctly.
- Responsible for the implementation of the approved file plan.
- Coordinate disposal of records at SANParks in accordance with the retention schedule
- Assist the Senior Manager in the implementation of Knowledge Management systems at SANParks
- Provide administrative support to the department.
- Perform financial, procurement and other office administrative functions.
- Manage the diary of the Senior Manager.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager.

South African National Parks (SANParks) is the leading conservation authority in all national parks, responsible for 3 751 113 hectares of protected land in 20 national parks. It draws its mandate from National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, Act 57 of 2003.
Applications are hereby invited from graduates who completed their Bachelor’s degree/ National Diploma (NQF6/NQF7) at Public Higher Education Institution (HEI) in South Africa and wish to be placed SANParks for a period of one (1) year with a monthly stipend of R6,355.69. SANParks is under no obligation to employ the Intern upon completion of the programme.

Requirements

- Be an unemployed graduate age 18 – 35
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Have completed a bachelor’s degree/National Diploma (NQF 6/ NQF 7) under the above-mentioned discipline/ fields of study from a South African Public Higher Education Institution (HEI)
- Must not have previously been employed nor participated in an internship/ placement programme
- Must reside within the Eastern Cape Province.

X2 RESEARCH ASSISTANT
A vacancy (permanent position) exists within Scientific Services for a Research Assistant stationed in Skukuza, Kruger National Park.
Location Kruger National Park
Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate – Any advanced certificate in the related field will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in reading, writing and communicating effectively in English.
- Valid firearm proficiency and competency certificate in a manually operated rifle.
– Handle and use a Manually operated rifle or carbine for business purposes.
- Valid SAPS firearm competency certificate.
- Understanding and experience in veld firefighting.
- Valid First Aid Certificate Level 1.
- At least 2-5 years of game guarding/research assistant/field ranger experience in a Big Five game reserve will be an added advantage.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Basic computer skills will be an added advantage.
- Ability to use GPS technology will be an added advantage.
- Valid and functional driver’s license will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Guarding and guiding researchers during field research from potentially dangerous animals.
- Participating in prescribed and experimental burns, Vegetation Condition Assessments.
- Assisting with the maintenance of research infrastructure, research sites, and research equipment.
- Downloading, collecting and capturing routine monitoring data where needed.
- Assisting with keeping the office, research camp and storeroom areas (including gardens) neat.

PROJECT MANAGER: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
The Organisation requires the services of a Project Manager: Business Development in the Tourism and Marketing Division. This position will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.

- Be in possession of a Business Degree in Commerce, Tourism, Project Management or relevant.
- Must have 6 years management experience, PPP Implementation experience will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities
- Manage the planning and implementation and post-award management of Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects on behalf of SANParks, exercising delegated authority.
- Consult with the management of SANParks at all relevant staged in the PPP project cycle and ensure on-going consultation and buy-in from relevant stakeholder.
- Directly support the General Manager: Business Development Unit to comply with the requirements of Treasury Regulation 16 to the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (PFMA) and all strategic objectives of the Business Development Unit.
- Diligently manage the projects from inception to signing of the PPP agreement and financial closure.
- Ensure that the projects are affordable to SANParks, provide optimal value-for money solutions, and appropriately allocate risk to the private parties.
- Manage all information systems necessary for the proper planning and implementation of the projects.
