HOSPITALITY SERVICES MANAGER
 
A vacancy exists for a Hospitality Services Manager in the Mapungubwe National Park and World Heritage Site. This position operates within the Tourism Department of the camp and reports directly to the Park Manager.

Requirements
  • NQF Level 6 in Hotel Management / Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or Public Relations.
  • 4 – 6 years of experience in Hotel / Lodge / Resort Management.
  • Valid Code 08 driver’s licence, essential.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package and accommodation booking system.
  • A solid understanding of the Public Finance Management Act, applicable human resources and industry legislation, as well as the tourism and conservation sectors.
  • Proficient in English, good written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and liaison skills are of high importance.
  • Good leadership and interpersonal qualities.
  • Must have good conflict management skills as well as diversity and change management.
  • Ability to co-operate and manage in a matrix environment.
 
Responsibilities
  • To successfully manage the Finances as well as the rest camps.
  • To ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Maximize revenue generating opportunities.
  • Ensure that good quality activities are offered.
  • Effective liaison with relevant stakeholders.
  • To ensure services are in place to respond to day-to-day enquiries.
  • Effective maintenance of infrastructure.
  • Capitalize on new income-generating products and activities.
  • To perform quality assurance inspection on all tourism facilities.
  • Reservation systems management.
  • Cash management at tourism and sales facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with the industry related legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with approved tourism Standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance and compliance with Restaurant customer service.
 
 
Please Note
The remuneration package includes a basic salary, based on the salary scale of a position with a Paterson D1 job grade and allowances and benefits as specified in the HR Tariff Document and Conditions of Services of SANParks.
Candidate will be required to reside within the park and official accommodation will be made available to the successful candidate.

Requirements
  • An Honours degree in HRM /HRD/ Organisational Development / Organisational Psychology (NQF Level 8). (Essential)
  • Relevant master’s degree (NQF level 9(an added advantage).
  • 6 – 10 years HR generalist experience of which at least 3 years in a senior HRBP role or HR management role which must include HCM team supervision management. (Essential)

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of the HCM policies, Standard Operating Procedures, frameworks, and practices.
  • Advise, raise awareness, and capacitate line management on new and reviewed HCM policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Conduct research and introduce efficiency improvement initiatives aimed at ensuring that Human Capital services are delivered through best practice.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on Human Capital Mandate in KNP.
  • Contribute to towards the development of and implementation of operational HCM plan in consultation with line management.
  • Contribute towards the development and implementation of the talent acquisition and retention strategy.
  • Analyse the gap between demand and supply of talent acquisition as well as developing strategies and plans that seek to close these gaps.
  • Manage and coordinate the forecasting of the division’s human capital requirements to deliver on strategic objectives.
  • Manage the data sourced from all exit processes to curate continuous improvement and retention strategies.
  • Administer processes that facilitates employee movement (deployment, transfers, promotions, and secondment) within the organisation in full compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Co-ordinate, participate and implement the delivery of all HCM programmes in collaboration with Employee Wellness, Occupational Health, and Safety Organisational Development, Learning and Development, Employee Relations as well as Employment Equity and Transformation.
  • Compile and submit monthly/ quarterly, annual regional reports, as well as intervention plans
  • Track key HCM metrics to assess the effectives HR initiatives
  • Oversee Human Capital Administration.
  • Lead feedback responses on audit findings as well as the implementation of all HCM related audit remedial action plans thereby enhancing compliance and risk management.
  • Provide effective leadership for the team and ensure cohesion and culture of high-performance.
  • Provide guidance and inputs for department restructures, workforce planning, Talent Management and succession planning for the different departments including HCM.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to direct reports and line management inclusive of coaching, counselling, career development and performance management.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase engagement, productivity, and retention.

​FINANCE MANAGER

A position currently exists for a Finance Manager at Table Mountain National Park.
Location Table Mountain National Park
 
Requirements
  • Advanced Diploma / NQF Level 7 qualification in Financial Accounting, Financial administration, Business Administration or relevant equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in financial administration.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory experience.
  • A valid Code driver’s license is essential.
  • Excellent Computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power-point, MS Outlook are a prerequisite.
  • Working knowledge of relevant Financial Administration procedures and practices.
  • Sound written, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ideal candidate must be proactive, adaptable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.
  • The successful candidate should be assertive, a strong team player, and demonstrate high ethical standards. They must be self-motivated, maintain confidentiality, and be open to learning and training others.
  • Be prepared to work outside of normal hours to meet deadline.
 
Responsibilities
  • Maintain an accurate and complete General Ledger functions for the region.
  • Asset management.
  • To perform projects’ accounting functions.
  • Coordinate the fleet administration function for the region.
  • Coordinate the development of the finance risk register and to maintain it.
  • To administer traffic transgressions fines with SANParks vehicles and recovery of monies payable from employees.
  • To manage insurance claims process and record keeping of theft and Loss.
  • To perform income return reconciliations.
  • Manage debtors and creditors control function.
  • Coordinate and maintain the inventory management function.
  • Support Management with preparation of audit file.
  • Supervision of Finance staff.
  • Day to Day support to parks in the region.
