MANAGING EXECUTIVE PARKS DIVISION (FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Commerce / Business Management / Conservation/ Science / Tourism.
- Senior management experience in a relevant field for a period of at least 10 to 12 years of which 7 years at Executive Management level.
- Park Management Experience.
- Financial Management and Commercial skills.
- A sound understanding of legislative framework including corporate governance.
- Ability to manage diversity within a complex environment
- Knowledge of the Conservation and Tourism industry.
- Strategic planning and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage and operate in a matrix environment.
- Good communication, Networking and Stakeholder Relationship Building skills.
- People management and Coaching skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and drive the Parks Divisional functional strategy aligned with the overall organizational strategy.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the Business Plan to deliver on strategic objectives.
- Ensure business efficiency and optimize commercial opportunities.
- Provide leadership, development, and management of human capital to build a high performance culture.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders for mutual benefit.
- Drive customer-centric service delivery and continuous improvement.
- Champion effective change management, transformation, and innovation.
- Promote sound corporate governance and compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Enhance Tourism products and commercialization.
- Effective management of Infrastructure and facilities maintenance and management.
- Ensure effective management of environmental crime.
- Enhance and effective financial management within Public Finance Management Framework.

FUEL ATTENDANT

Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate (Std 10) required or equivalent
- 1 – 2 years’ experience as a fuel attendant.
- Occupational Health and Safety experience.
- Knowledge of Customer Care Principals.
- Basic Accounting Skills and Mathematical skills are essential.
- Previous cash handling skills are essential.
- Good interpersonal skills, communication and listening skills are essential.
- Proficiency in two languages (including English) is essential.
- Candidate should be willing to complete a Practical Exam as part of their interview.
- 1 year experience in the Tourism Industry.
- Occupational Health and Safety certificate.
- First Aid level 1 certificate.
Responsibilities
- Providing a general service at the filling station (that includes filling vehicles with fuel and oil, taking of payments for transactions, checking of water and oil, tyre pressure and cleaning of windscreen).
- Taking daily fuel pump readings and ensuring that the readings reconcile with actual sales for the day.
- Ensuring that the safety measures at the filling station are always adhered to and in accordance with the relevant legislation.
- Perform basic tasks such as the regular cleaning of the filling station and its surroundings ensuring neatness and hygiene.
- Daily control over fuel and oil stock levels via dip readings.
- Ordering of fuel as per the procurement protocol when fuel levels are low.
- Ensure fuel prices are changes according to pricing schedule.
- Being polite and attentive when serving customers and prevent mistakes by remembering customers’ requirements.
- Must be able to give sufficient information and directions to customers of the park and surrounding areas/towns/attractions.
- Verifying signatures on manual coupons as well as the accuracy of calculations.
- Checking for correctness, faults or problems in equipment and machinery, recording in reports, documents, and cash ups documentation.
- Ad-Hoc duties as per instruction of line manager.

3X ROOM ATTENDANTS
Permanent vacancies exist for three (3) Attendant: Rooms positions at Addo Elephant National Park in the Tourism Department. The successful candidates will report to the Camp supervisor.
Successful candidate will be required to provide own transport and accommodation as the park does not have staff accommodation.

Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate (Std 10) required or equivalent.
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in Housekeeping.
- 1 year experience in the Tourism Industry.
- Proficiency in two languages (including English) is essential.
- Occupational Health and Safety knowledge.
- Time Management skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Planning and organizing skills.
- Willing to work overtime, weekends and public holidays as required by the supervisor.
- Knowledge of working with cleaning chemicals.
- Added Advantage:
- Occupational Health and Safety certificate.
- First Aid level 1 certificate.
- Housekeeping certificate.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning in and around chalets (changing bed linen, sweeping and mopping floors, polish furniture, empty trash containers) etc.
- Cleaning public areas (ablution blocks, admin offices, reception area) to ensure that high levels of hospitality standards are maintained.
- Reporting abnormalities including inventory shortages, breakages, and equipment and maintenance faults to supervisor.
- Control inventory items and ensure that the appropriate amounts of inventory items are present in chalets.
- Report all lost and found property to Supervisor.
- Ensure that keys are controlled and well always secured.
- Assist with laundry duties when required, monthly stock takes on linen, cleaning materials and equipment.
- Have a knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and to ensure a high level of OHS practises are applied.
- Regulating traffic flow and visitor parking.
- Ad-Hoc duties as per instruction of line manager.
- Minimal interaction with guests and assisting them with basic queries.

- Perform general cleaning duties (terrain duties, garbage removal, cleaning of picnic areas, ablutions, office buildings, and surrounding areas) to prescribe set standards of SANParks.
- To maintain equipment, machinery and tools within the incumbents’ capabilities.
- To assist with collection of supplies when necessary.
- Have a knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and to ensure a high level of OHS practises are applied.
