SENIOR MANAGER: EMPLOYMENT AND LABOUR LAW

Description:
SANParks currently offers this challenging career opportunity to an appropriately qualified and experienced person. This position is based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.
 
Requirements:
  • Be in possession of a Legal degree (BJuris, BProc, LLB) and an Admitted Attorney.
  • 10 years in the legal field of which 5 years should be in a managerial role.
  • 5 years of contract law, administrative law related experience (PFMA), Labour Law and Interpretation of statutes.

Responsibilities:
  • Change management.
  • Provide legal support to the Human Capital Management Department (HCM).
  • Provide support in respect of labour and employment issues within the organization.
  • Advise on strikes/lockouts, picketing rules, collective bargaining, restructuring, disputes over the interpretation and application of collective agreements.
  • Draft and interpret employment agreement and handling of disputes related thereto.
  • Draft HCM related agreements
  • Provide guidance on handling and presiding over grievances incapacity (ill-health, poor work performance, injury and compatibility, pre-dismissal arbitrations and disciplinary enquiries.
  • Facilitate disciplinary forensic investigations in the workplace.
  • Advice on changing employment and Labour legislation and its potential impact to the organization.
  • Represent the employer at CCMA mediations, arbitrations, the Labour Courts and other forums for labour disputes where external legal service providers are involved.
  • Advice and assist with drafting of Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) emanating from HCM.
  • Conduct Labour and Employment training as and when required.
  • Provide legal support to ensure overall compliance with Labour and Employment relevant legislation.
  • Conduct research and provide legal opinions in respect of Labour and Employment Law.
  • Manage Labour and Employment litigation.
  • Attend to PAIA requests relating to the unit in support to the information officer.
  • Resolve potential legal disputes and negotiate settlement terms.
  • Build, enhance and maintain stakeholder relationships.
 
Salary: R 749 266 - R 1 228 440

ROOM ATTENDANT
Park: Mountain Zebra National Park
 
Description:
A challenging vacancy currently exists for a Room Attendant in Mountain Zebra National Park. The successful candidate will report to the Hospitality Services Manager.
The remuneration package is based on the salary scale of a position with a Paterson A3 job grade and allowances and benefits as specified in the HR Tariff Document and Conditions of Services of SANParks.
Appointment will be in accordance with EE plan targets.
There is no official accommodation inside the park.
 
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 (Std 10)
  • 2 years experience in Housekeeping
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Working overtime and working on weekends & public holidays are required: 6 days, 45 hours per week.
  • Ideally the candidate should have relevant safety regulation training
  • Good communication skills to interact with tourists.
  • Previous experience in a similar field will be an added advantage.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning guest accommodation, camp sites, ablution blocks, terrain, and offices to prescribed standards.
  • Control inventory items.
  • Reporting abnormalities including equipment and maintenance faults.
  • Assist with the collection of supplies when necessary.
  • Assist with general work in rest camp & linen room.
  • Ad hoc duties as instructed by the Supervisor.
  • Ensuring sufficient supply of stock to guest units.
  • Relieve other room attendants when off duty.
  • Assist with laundry duties e.g., (washing & ironing).
 
Salary: R 123 884 - R 165 767
