LABOUR RELATIONS PRACTITIONER
 
A position exists for a Labour Relations Practitioner within the Human Capital Management Department in Kruger National Park (KNP), reporting to the Manager: Labour Relations: KNP.
 
Purpose of the Job
To defend cases at the CCMA, facilitate the resolution of disputes between employees and supervisors, coordinate grievances and disciplinary investigations, render an advisory service, and conduct training on labour relations issues in order to contribute to a sound labour relations climate in the KNP.
Location: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
 
Requirements
  • National Diploma in Labour Relations or Human Resources
  • A degree in Human Resources or an advanced diploma in Labour Relations will be an added advantage.
  • 3 to 4 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities
  • Provide advisory services on disciplinary and grievances investigations and hearings based on applicable policies, standard operating procedures, best practices and applicable legislation.
  • Attend, represent and successfully defend SANParks’ cases at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA)
  • Research case law and or outcomes of previous internal cases and advise both line management and employees.
  • Provide training on policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Track clients’ enquiries and give feedback.
  • Setting up and coordinating meetings with internal stakeholders
  • Liaise with line management, employees and trade unions.
  • Register and update all disciplinary, grievances and appeals actions on HCM systems.
  • Ensure documentation and storage of all information.
  • Monitor compliance to stipulated timeframes to the Disciplinary and Grievance Standard Operating Procedures

  • Assist in creating a climate of trust, cooperation, and stability in order to stimulate a harmonious and productive working environment which contributes to a respected reputation.
  • Ensure capacity building and compliance to relevant labour legislation and codes of good practice (conduct joint training interventions on rights and responsibilities of employees, policies and procedures, role of shop stewards; between line management, employees and shop stewards).
  • Train managers or supervisors on topics related to labour relations, such as working conditions and collective agreements.
  • Facilitate information sessions to collect issues raised by employees and present them to the Manager: Labour Relations, KNP.
  • To track and coordinate the details of grievances, disciplinary hearings and CCMA cases so that they are conducted and concluded within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Assess risks associated with grievances and disciplinary actions and propose remedial action to Manager: Labour Relations, KNP
  • Mediate discussions between line management and shop stewards in order to reconcile differences.
  • Monitor line management and employees’ adherence to collective agreements.
  • Monitor and accurately administer trade union membership in accordance with organisational rights agreements.

FUSION CENTRE/CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR (X4)
 
A challenging vacancy currently exists for four (4) Fusion Centre/Control Room Operator Positions at Addo Elephant National Park.
Location: ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK
 
Requirements
  • Attach certified copies of all qualifications and identity documents.
  • A grade 12 certificate/NQF level 4.
  • 2 Years’ experience as conservation law enforcement official/para-military operations
  • Qualification in conservation studies will be an added advantage.
  • Field ranger training/conservation training/para-military training certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Computer Literacy certificate. An advanced computer skills certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent Administrative and Record Keeping skills, certificate will be an added advantage.
  • A healthy person with high-level mental alertness is required in this position.
  • The willingness to be based inside the park.
  • No criminal record.
 
Responsibilities
  • Monitor organisation security systems- including but not limited to the access control and CCTV systems
  • Receive notifications of security incidents and issues from all organisation personnel
  • Relay notifications of incidents, issues etc. to the appropriate leadership positions
  • Interface with conservation law enforcement to coordinate incident responses
  • Dispatch conservation/law enforcement/security officers to investigate alarms and respond to incidents, escalate as procedure states and to the best of own judgement
  • Notify emergency services when external response is required; coordinate with security to ensure services have immediate access to the space
  • Monitor the performance of security system elements and report deficiencies to the Security Manager and organisation’s senior personnel
  • Coordinate communication between relevant role-players and stakeholders
  • Command and Control support and facilitation of ground operations when incidents occur.
  • Support ground operations in the park and at the regional level where necessary
  • Support conservation services, law enforcement, tourism services, technical department services, security services, scientific services etc.
  • Track the location and activities of all rangers/field staff assigned to their shift
  • Applies the appropriate professionalism, maturity and tact to manage the incident
  • Adheres to and always promotes organisational policies and procedures
  • Communicates concerns, process improvement ideas or other opportunities for improvement to the team
  • Law enforcement by assisting with the control of visitors as well as staff and the assimilation, interpretation, and dissemination of information.
  • To maintain law, order and discipline for staff members, communities, and guests.
  • To maintain a high standard of administration.
  • Inspection and cleanliness of operations room building and equipment.

ICT STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS (X2)
 
South African National Parks (SANParks) is a public entity under the jurisdiction of the Department of Forestry Fisheries and the Environment. SANParks manages a system of 21 functional national parks in seven of the nine provinces of South Africa with a total area of just over 4 million hectares.
SANParks seeks to appoint two (2) independent and suitably qualified individuals to serve as external members of the ICT Steering Committee for a period of three (3) years.

Requirements
  • A minimum of an Honours degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field.
  • A post-graduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
  • Over 10 years experience in leading and executing IT projects (preferably at senior management or executive level).
  • Experience in the implementation of large, complex and/or innovative transformational initiatives.
  • Extensive experience in IT delivery and operations management and strong knowledge of software methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Working knowledge of software engineering best practices and frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of IT service management.
  • IT governance leadership and risk management skills.
  • Knowledge and Experience in implementing and maintaining enterprise architecture and information management methodologies.

MANAGER: ACQUISITION MANAGEMENT

Responsibilities
  • Develop the sub-unit operational plans and budget
  • Develop, review, and implement the supply chain acquisition management framework, policies, processes and strategies.
  • Manage the functional operation of the Sub-Unit- (Acquisition Management).
  • Ensure delivery and reporting of demand and procurement plan.
  • Monitor and review the end-to-end acquisition management processes.
  • Oversee the Bid Evaluation, Bid Adjudication and Bid Specification committees and manage the Bid committee secretarial functions.
