PRACTITIONER: VIDEOGRAPHY, PHOTOGRAPHY AND MULTIMEDIA
Park: Groenkloof (Head Office)
 
Description:
The Organisation requires the services of a Practitioner: Videography, Photography and Multimedia in the Communications department. This position will be based at the Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.
Paterson Grade: C4
Applicants in possession of foreign qualifications to submit evaluated results by the South African Qualification Authority.
 
Requirements:
  • Be in possession of an appropriate NQF 6 or higher tertiary qualification, preferably in photography, videographer or multimedia.
  • Have 2 - 5 years of experience in creating engaging photo and video content for diverse audiences.
  • Have at least 2 years of experience using relevant editing software.
  • Knowledge of animation and graphic design.
  • Knowledge of storytelling through video and photos.
  • Knowledge of various multimedia platforms.
  • Photography and videography skills.
  • Adobe creative suites.
  • Planning and organising skills.
  • Presentation, computer and listening skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Rule-based and analytical decision skills.
  • Project Management skills.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Shoot video and photographs for SANParks.
  • Lead the production and development of invitations and posters, social media videos and banners, marketing and educational videos and banners from original concept to completed project.
  • Perfom post-production editing of photos and videos including incorporating graphics and effects.
  • Generate ideas to help further SANParks' mission by communicating the role SANParks plays in the Conservation and Tourism sector.
  • Responsible for editing video content that tells stories and drives engagement across media channels.
  • Designs and produces computer-generated graphics for publishing, multimedia, photo, audio, digital video, still and digital photography and Internet applications.
  • Create and maintain all images on the website in support of marketing.
  • Keep up with social media posting trends - cross purpose posting across social media channels and know what content is appropriate for each social media platform.
  • Digitizes organises and maintains collections of media files for future utilisation.
  • Film events in the field, interview subject matter experts, and write content outline scripts when needed.
  • Schedule yearly photoshoots of staff.
  • Shoots digital and conventional photographs for various events and projects.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of commonly accepted visual design principles, including colour theory, typography, pre-flight, pre-press, layout and print process.
  • Uses a variety of products from the adobe suite in a design setting, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Ensure visual consistency in branding across various mediums and touchpoints meet brand standards for the organisation.
  • Applies core marketing principles and supports marketing initiatives.
  • Uses a variety of products from the Microsoft Office suite in a design setting, including PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.

MANAGING EXECUTIVE: INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT (FIVE YEAR FIXED-TERM CONTRACT)
Park: Groenkloof (Head Office)
 
Description:
The Organisation requires the services of a Managing Executive: Infrastructure Management in the Infrastructure and Technical Services Division. This position will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.
 
Requirements:
  • Have an NQF level 9 or 10 (postgraduate) qualification in Civil/Electrical Engineering. Must be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa in terms of the Engineering Profession of SA Act, 46 of 2000.
  • Have 10 to 15 years of proven work experience in a Senior Managerial position in a complex facilities/Infrastructure and technical environment.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate the feasibility of options and alternatives in the delivery of quality services that comply with statutory provisions.
  • Knowledge of financial management and an understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Sound knowledge of CIDB requirements.
  • Sound understanding of the legal and legislative framework SANParks operates in.
  • Technical aptitude and business acumen.
  • Project/programme and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication, Conflict resolution/problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to facilitate and negotiate with stakeholders in all spheres and at all levels.
  • Ability to develop, facilitate and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances with other stakeholders and role players.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership towards the rendering of comprehensive infrastructure management programmes and technical services for SANParks, ensuring the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of strategies and programmes that work towards the achievement of goals.
  • Lead Infrastructure development and maintenance programme, including
    • Conditional assessments and consequent prioritised maintenance and recapitalisation programmes;
    • Develop, review and implement an Infrastructure development programme;
    • Climate-resilient new infrastructure.
  • Lead project and programme management within SANParks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and protocols in implementing Infrastructure and maintenance programmes.
  • Provide leadership and strategic oversight of complex civil infrastructure projects from conceptualisation, design, contract management, quality assurance and compliance, and ensure best practices in the delivery management of infrastructure.
  • Accelerated delivery of approved new infrastructure SANParks has identified and maintenance of existing infrastructure, to ensure that infrastructure remains available to support service delivery.
  • Ensure sound financial management and commercial skills.
  • Lead environmental sustainability and climate resilience programme of SANParks (including energy, water, waste, and greywater).

GM: CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS AND SPOKESPERSON
Park: Groenkloof (Head Office)
 
Description:
The organisation requires the services of a GM: Corporate Communications & Spokesperson to be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria. The above position will report directly to the Managing Executive Tourism and Marketing.
 
Requirements:
  • Be in possession of Honours in Journalism, Communications or Public Relations or equivalent, at a minimum.
  • 8 years of experience in Corporate Communications or Public Relations environment with 5 years in a senior management position.
  • Must exhibit a demonstrable ability to translate strategy into action.
  • Must exhibit a demonstrable ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way.
  • Legislative understanding (PFMA, NEMA, PAIA, POPI etc.)
  • In-depth comprehension of Public Relations principles, and Media Relations Principles.
  • Exposure to the communication environment in the public sector and/or state-owned entity.
  • Internal communications strategy and practices.
  • Government protocols.

  • Develop and execute activities that promote, enhance, and project the SANParks vision, brand and reputation to employees and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary contact, spokesperson and public face for SANParks in the mass media.
  • Proactively introduce initiatives that boost SANParks standing amongst key stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain a positive public image for SANParks by ensuring consistent visibility and coherent messaging to the public.
  • Develop and convey messaging that is credible, incisive and accurate regarding SANParks activities across all areas of operation.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with the media.
  • Build and manage relations with internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Proactively and strategically assess reputational risk for the organisation and implement mitigating strategies with agility.
  • Build the professional profile of key personnel in the organisation including but not limited to the CE, Board and EXCO.

FREELANCE FIELD GUIDE
Park: Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park
Description:
Applicants are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position. The position is for a Freelance Guide that will be stationed in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
 
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a field guide in a dangerous game area.
  • DEAT Registration ( Northern Cape, Kalahari Transfrontier Park and Surrounding areas)
  • Valid EC (Code 10) Driver's License
  • PDP (Valid Public Drivers Permit).
  • Sound knowledge of fauna and flora.
  • Bilingual ( English and Afrikaans)
  • Firearm proficiency certificate.
  • Valid First Aid certificate
  • THETA TGSP 3/NQF Qualification
  • Incumbents will be required to do a practical drive.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Guide visitors on Interpretive Game Drives while conducting a guided nature experience.
  • Marketing of activities at Twee Rivieren
  • Assisting with 4x4 guiding when required
  • To do relief duties when other Field Guides when on leave or on time off.
  • Any other duties as per Head Guide.
  • Remuneration will be per activity.
