ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE OFFICER (REGIONAL INTEGRATION AND PLANNING)
The role of the Environmental Compliance Officer will be to monitor and report on environmental compliance to promote sustainable development practices and activities within the buffer zone of  the Kruger National Park.

Requirements
  • Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development or Planning. A postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
  • Registration as an Environmental Assessment Practitioner with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA).
  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in the Environmental Management Field, with specific expertise in environmental impact assessments and reporting, ecological compliance/control auditing, EIA’s linked to development, and water & waste management. Working within a Protected Area environment will be an added
  • Experience with municipal planning processes will be an added advantage.
  • Valid Code 08 (B) drivers
  • Broad knowledge of impacts associated with a range of development types in different
  • Experience with developing and monitoring Environmental Management Systems will be an added advantage
  • A genuine interest in and understanding of environmental issues, relevant legislation, and international best practices within a Protected Area;
  • Effective Team Player and Self-Management;
  • Proven experience with compliance; monitoring, auditing, and reporting, including conducting EIAs;
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) (English);
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office software package;

Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate proposed developments, EIA applications, and activities within the buffer areas of Kruger National Park;
  • Conduct and report on compliance monitoring with environmental legislation including NEMA, NEM, BA, NEM, PAA, NWA;
  • Assist with the implementation of the Environmental Management System for Kruger National Park;
  • Support Environmental Impact Assessment processes to ensure adherence to all environmental-related legislation and standards;
  • Conduct environmental auditing of development and operational activities within areas that are part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Areas (GLTFCA) Cooperative Agreement;
  • Assessing strategic planning instruments such as municipal integrated development plans, and spatial development frameworks;
  • Stakeholder management and Advising and liaising with internal/external departments, partners and regulatory bodies;
  • Assessing, analyzing, collating, and communicating environmental performance data and reporting information to internal staff, clients, and regulatory bodies;
  • Ensure that all Environmental reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines, and schedules;
  • Investigate environmental incidents and EMS inefficiencies and make recommendations to the General Manager: Regional Integration and Planning.;
  • Communicate awareness about environmental legislation requirements and procedures;
  • Support the development and review of management plans;
  • Assist with internal and external reporting
  • Assist with the implementation of the GLTFCA Cooperative Agreement
  • Perform administration and finance management.

The incumbent will be expected to provide their accommodation outside the park hence the package took that into account.
The position requires specialist knowledge and experience of environmental management systems, environmental legislation, biodiversity mainstreaming, evaluation of land use applications such as zoning and Environmental Impact Assessment projects, Strategic land use planning, incident investigation, compliance monitoring, and risk assessment and management.

Requirements
  • Be in a possession of a three-year or more degree or diploma qualification in graphic design / Multimedia Production or a related fine arts field.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital and multimedia content strategy aligned with the SANParks goals.
  • Provide creative expression that is message-aligned and consistent with the corporate brand.
  • Produce engaging digital content and resources for use across the website, ranging from video, photography, graphics, audio, and other multimedia for all of our digital channels to support day-to-day activity and campaigns.
  • Storyboard, self-shoot, and edit video content to support day-to-day activity and campaigns.
  • Oversee the production of high-quality digital content including videos, animations, graphics, and interactive media.
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all multimedia content.
  • Work with the GM: Media, Public Relations, and Stakeholders to identify and prioritize organizational digital content needs and contribute to the organisation’s content strategy.
  • Work with freelancers and agencies on additional requests where necessary.
  • Ensure presence on relevant social media platforms.

​FIELD GUARD MONITOR (X7) – SIX MONTHS FIXED-TERM CONTRACT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of field guard monitors in technical services. The successful candidates will work throughout the park.

Requirements
  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Firearm documentation required:
    • Firearm competency – Manual Loading/bolt action (Unit standards 117705, 119651, and 123519)
    • Valid Regulation 79 or 21 – bolt action or manual, no criminal record (valid SAPS Clearance certificate to be submitted as part of the application)
  • Must have done a Basic Field Ranger course.
  • Medical Certificate of Fitness.
  • Understanding the Basic principles of Health & Safety (Health & Safety level 1)
  • Ability to do extended patrols under difficult conditions.
  • Physically fit & passionate about conservation and people.
Candidates must have a basic understanding, preferably with experience of Field Ranger duties.

  • Guarding/protecting contractors as well as maintenance teams.
  • Enforcing law, order, and discipline through NEMA.
