Requirements:
- National diploma in Conservation or Environmental Management
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience
- 1 to 2 years of experience in invasive alien plant clearing is essential for this position
- 1 to 2 years of experience in health and safety management and compliance
- Computer literacy in MS office packages
- Code B driver's license
Responsibilities:
- Operational planning and assisting with strategic planning for the project
- Managing the projects according to organisational standards
- Managing human resources and logistics within the project
- Management of administrative and financial processes of the project
- Communication and liaison with stakeholders
- Compilation of weekly and monthly reports
- Monthly SHEQ compliance and reporting
- Conduct self-assessments and prepare project audits
- Ensure mapping and data recording for the project linked to activities
- Ensure all relevant data is captured for the project

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Description:
SANParks requires the services of a Chief Financial Officer. This position is on a fixed-term contract of five years and will be based in Groenkloof, Pretoria reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
Requirements:
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with Honours/Postgraduate qualification and should be a registered Chartered Accountant (CASA).
- Should have 10 to 12 years of executive management experience in a financial environment.
- Sound knowledge of relevant Legislative framework and Corporate Governance (PFMA); Application Accounting Standards.
- Sound knowledge of Supply Chain Processes and Legislation (BBBEE, PPPFA).
- Knowledge of financial management with accounting skills.
- Ability to strategize and solve problems.
- Ability to manage internal and external audits.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills.
- An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Qualifications and experience which will provide an added advantage:
- Knowledge of macro economy.

- Be in possession of a Post Graduate qualification in Social Sciences, Development Economics, Community and Social Development, Project and Programme Management or a related field.
- Have 6 - 10 years of relevant work experience at the senior management level.

- Lead and manage the implementation of the Biodiversity Economy programme
- Lead and manage the implementation of the Land claims programme
- Manage the effective implementation of Social Legacy and Donation Funds;
- Provide strategic guidance on effective implementation of the stakeholder engagement programme;
- Lead and manage the implementation of skills development, capacity building and environmental awareness programmes;
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships to support SET programmes
- Lead and manage the implementation of the Youth Development programme
- Ensure sound financial management and corporate governance in the implementation of SET programmes.
- Manage the human capital of the socio-economic transformation division.

FIELD RANGER
Park: Addo Elephant National Park
Description:
A challenging vacancy exists for a Field Ranger at Addo Elephant National Park (Main Camp/Nyathi Section). The successful incumbent will report to the Field Ranger Sergeant.
The candidate will be required to reside within the Park and official accommodation will be made available to the successful candidate.
Requirements:
- A minimum Certificate of Grade 12 (Std 10) is required.
- Peace officer and Tactical training, Basic Field ranger course, Conservation guardianship, Conservation Diploma or other relevant Accredited Field Ranger certificates are required.
- Two (2) or more years of relevant experience as an Armed Environmental Monitor, Field Guard or within Conservation is needed, Marine Protected Area, Terrestrial Biodiversity Management with the implementing relevant legislation (MRLA, NEMPAA, NEMBA, NVFA and others).
- Working knowledge of relevant Conservation Legislation.
- Provide proof of a valid code B driver's license; PDP will serve as an added advantage.
- SAPS criminal record to be attached if available.
- Criminal checks will be done on the successful candidate.
- Computer literacy
- EMI training - certificate attached
- Should be Firearm Competent and a certificate should be provided. (NB: valid SAPD Competency Certificate; Original Training Competency Certificate for Business Unit Standards; PFTC Statement of results indicating the unit standards for Law and Business Purpose Unit Standards.)
- Must at least be 60% physically fit and be prepared to undergo a fitness test before the interview.
- Must be willing to undergo a medical exam.
Responsibilities:
- Law Enforcement that will include participating in regular patrols by foot in areas that are inaccessible by vehicle and in difficult, mountainous terrain;
- Anti-poaching operations throughout Addo Elephant National Park that will require the applicant to work flexi-time, night shift and overtime;
- Regular clandestine and camping deployments in support of anti-poaching operations in Addo Elephant National Park;
- Assistance with natural resources management that includes the implementation of the invasive plant, alien biota and unnatural soil erosion;
- Assistance with the management of the reserve's fauna that includes water provision, game capture and culling operations;
- Assist with the control of visitor's behaviour and access;
- Assist with the control of EPWP contractors' movement within the park;
- Fence patrols and fence maintenance;
- General maintenance of conservation infrastructure such as generators, pumps, storerooms and including terrain near visitor facilities;
- Assist with maintenance and management of all assets.
